Icon20 Please help me choose!!! SCAM ALERT

Hello all

My AD is offering one of the followings.

Rolex Sky Dweller Stainless Steel blue dial ref 326934
Rolex Daytona Ceramic Bezel White Dial ref 116500LN
GMT-Master II "Pepsi" ref 126710BLRO

I would be happy with any of these just the same. They have been On
my wish list for a while now and here is my opportunity! No, I
Cant get them all just one only and struggling to decide. Which one of these three would you choose? Thanks!

Updating this post at 9:05PM NYC time

Hey guys!
My excitement has been completely doused with ice! If I did not run into one of the posts on here I would had been scammed. Apparently or possibly some one may had hacked into the AD system and sending emails offering special order but required 50% down payment. I feel like such a fool, god damn fool at the same time disappointed at myself! I am not going to delete this so other may know of this ploy!

Please help me choose!!!

I have 2 out of these three (actually 3, but my Daytona is WG) and i would get the Blue SkyD.

By the way, awesome that you’re given a choice between the 3 hardest to get SS Rolex!

Depends on your watch collection tbh.

I would go in the order you have listed...

The trinity of rarest SS models. Are you buying it to wear or to eventually sell? Either way the answer should be easy. If buying to sell then the Daytona probably gives you the quickest and highest return but the SkyD might give you best long term return. I would say the Pepsi is not a good one for ROI.
If you’re buying it to wear then the answer should be just as easy. Try them on and the answer should be obvious. If you need to ask a bunch of strangers then just get the Daytona. It’s the safest of the 3 in terms of value and wearability.

I noticed you only bought your first watch in August 2019, that’s 10 months ago. How did you get your AD to offer you these 3 models, you must have been buying a lot in a short period of time, or some full gold pieces?

Wow, what an offer of fine watches. What kind of bundle deal is this? If it's not a bundle deal, then just buy all three.

It would depend on your collection I suppose. They all have appeal depending on what function and aesthetic you’re looking for.

I’ve been able to but all three but chose the GMT. I find it to be a useful complication compared to the Chronograph for which I have little use for. I was seriously considering the SkyDweller, but I found the dial a bit difficult to read, and I wasn’t certain I’d like the annual calendar ... sometimes less is more I guess YMMV

There's only one choice, get all three! They’re all awesome pieces and any would be a heck of a way to start a collection!

Good Luck

Thanks for the update. Yeah that sounded fishy. The hardest combinations to find in the wild and your AD offers all 3 by email! And a 50% deposit no less! Glad you figured it out in time

Please help me choose!!! SCAM ALERT

If you saved the original email that you received, then inspect the full header of it.

I believe you will likely find the scammer sent it from a fake email addy. One that poses as your AD by a deceptively crafted similar email addy.

TempMail and GuerillaMail are two such generators.

Now onto the security issue for you - in other words, how did the scammer associate you with the AD?

S/he may have pierced your email contacts. (Do you have your AD’s legitimate email addy saved to your contacts?) It May be best to change your email and/or PC passwords if you don’t already have 2-factor authentication enabled.

S/he may have pierced your AD’s email contacts. (Do they have your email addy saved to their distribution list or waitlist?) At this point you may want to forward a copy of the fake email to your AD to alert them of the scammer posing as them. This would just be a courtesy since anyone falling for the ruse would squawk on Yelp or other platforms. Such scams can hurt a stores reputation.
