Get what ever you like the most. If you are buying a Rolex at 30...it won't be your last major watch purchase I'm guessing.

I think buying preowned from a reputable reseller is not a bad option if you don't want to wait. Make sure they provide the box and papers with the watch. From a pure pricing point of view, from the 3 watch options you provided, the black GMT is the best value.

But I agree with the advice of some UK forum members here that you should call all the UK ADs and ask to be put on the wait list if they have one. I don't know if they will do that by phone or if you need to visit them in person. You may be lucky to get one within a few weeks rather than the months of wait that they often tell you. Even if there is a 10% price increase within the next few months, it may still be worth it to get the watch from an AD with the piece of mind and the 5 year full warranty.

A watch is not an investment

Buy the one you like, don't buy one based on how you think others will perceive it

Other than when you want to resell the watch, literally no one besides you will ever notice your Rolex, unless it's another watch guy.

Im always a nervous buyer with around 50k in watches and still to this day. Having an anxiety before ever purchase is just part of the game.

I would go with the GMT II Black bezel,Black dial

Great first watch

Buy new and what you like.

Good watch is like family member: you got it not for financial purposes it is something you should enjoy being with, happy to look after and acopanies you all the time.

Plus more family members more fun.

Hope that nobody gets offended with my simplified opinion expressed above. Having morning coffe and killing time waiting to watch Olympic.

Do more research, get comfortable with the pricing and most of all, decide which complication make the most sense in your life and works for your esthetic. Once that's settled and you know what you want, find a good source and forget about the value retention for a bit. If cost is an issue (and it should be), look at the preowned market, the entry value is down and therefor will appreciate quicker (you just have to accept some scratches, but who cares). Some of the older models have sleeker cases...just saying...
I personally love a GMTc LN for all its technological advances, accuracy and versatility while representing what a Rolex tool watch stands for.

But sure does seem to be far more Rolex enthusiastists out there.

I wonder, if Omega had a similar resale, would they be more popular?

I think Omega's problem lies to the fact that their models are not consistent and change a lot. The only model that didn't change since its conception is the Moonwatch. This is also the reason that their resale value is so low.
Cheers

Get the new one that sings to you loud from AD. If I were you, I would choose the BLNR.

First Rolex, go with your gut feeling and get what you want. My first Rolex was the BLNR and I absolutely love it!

If you like the BLNR the most, then go for it even if it's the most expensive among the 3 watches you are thinking of getting.
