Trouble is these days people won't answer phones to numbers they don't recognise, due to the scourge of cold callers (vermin).
From experience a dealer rang my other half who missed the call and didn't leave a message, fortunately she rang back for some reason which resulted in a D-blue within 90 mins. Truth is that could have been missed so easily and how many other wouldn't have answered the call, especially with no message left ?? Doesn't mean any of them are time wasters |

I am still on a waiting list with one large UK jeweller for the BLNR who quoted 6-12 months. However I thought I would contact David M Robinson an Ad I hadn't used before but one that had a branch in Manchester near where I live. They quoted me 3 months but had a different approach, they took a % payment up front and treated it like an order, not a waiting list.
I got the watch a few weeks after the order. Very happy and a BLNR with only a few weeks wait at RRP.

Errol0_7, and how much more pleasant was your experience overall? People go to the big names but I think the tide is turning.

I can also highly recommend David M Robinson. I dealt with the Canary Wharf branch and found them very professional and polite compared to some other places I visited while hunting for a BLNR. I paid DMR a 20% deposit. This is a decent approach because they told me while they couldn't guarantee when it would arrive and what price it would be (this was just a few months before UK price increase), they assured me I would get one through them. Nothing like "wait 6 months or 3 years and you *may* get it if you're lucky and none or our preferred customers wants it" or "we don't do waiting lists, just keep checking and you may get lucky if you're here within a few minutes of us receiving one".
I cancelled my order over a month later as I had found the watch while abroad and got my deposit back. However, even then they honestly told me had I continued, I would still have to wait a while. Pretty clear that waiting times are longer in London. |

I got my BLNR from my local AD in about 5 weeks. I paid MSRP for it. My AD is in quite a small remote town. Apparently they have issues with Carpetbaggers from the bigger cities so they sold it to me as I was local and they knew I'd wear it rather than sell it :-)
