Hi JSL. Congrats. Good choice. One you will not regret I’m sure. Did you get it from Hour Glass?

Same watch here. Love it. Congrats

Let me ask you this though :

When you say the "lume is fantastic “, do you mean for about an hour? Because I find mine to be near useless after an hour or 2 of darkness.

I think it’s a piece that you will appreciate more and more as time goes on. You’ll appreciate the perfect balance of the dial, the size and proportion, the heritage, the fact that it goes with everything. It’s a real masterpiece. Enjoy!

Had a hard time deciding between the Explorer and Datejust 36, I’m looking forward for Rolex update its DJ36 SS

The Reverso is another piece that I would like to own

I didn’t like the Mercedes hands initially, almost wanna choose the OP39 white dial (great dial and same movement), however the lume of the Explorer and the mountain climbing story (ok, the smith and OP are the original Everest Watch) won me

Yo, THG offered a great deal but I was indecisive that time, when I decided they said can’t offer discount on professional model anymore (I think it’s bullshit la) so in the end I went to MBS Rolex boutique and used all my mbs card rebate lol

Sorry for the misunderstanding, the Lume didn’t last as long as Rolex advertised, I was wearing it watching Mission Impossible Fallout (great action movie though) it was about 2.5 hrs, I didn’t charge the lume, at the beginning of the movie the lume was good but went faintly when the credits rolled

Fantastic was referring the color and balance of the lume

I heard the Explorer is a collection killer, I have a few watches, not big collection but enough for my wife to nag ha
That said, I really like my Speedmaster, only that watch is a bit more delicate than the Explorer, I feel that I’m more ‘carefree’ with the Explorer

I have both a subc and an exp I lume numerals. NOBODY ever in two years says squat to me. It's great.

Congrats on yours by the way! It looks great on your wrist!

I've got a collection of 2: one vintage Omega that belonged to a dear family friend (and which now sits quietly dreaming), and my 214270.

I love most watches and have to be satisfied with fantasizing about owning them, as every time I do so, I realize that my Explorer is all I need. The thought of keeping a bunch of watches on winders or picking from them in a drawer like I would with cufflinks seems like fun, but not fun enough to take wrist time away from my simple little time teller.

Wear yours proudly and enjoy! Congratulations

It’s a problem, I have three manual wind watches, I spend around 5 mins winding them everyday lol

However, I’m very happy with it, thanks for the help and suggestions guys, I read every post and value your sharing very much!

This is my first Rolex, the funny thing is when I bought it, I didn’t feel the same excitement as I bought my Speedy, but deep down I know it’s a watch to wear for lifetime, the lume is fantastic!
