2,000th Post...Thoughts on Pepsi (126710BLRO)
I picked up a SS Pepsi (126710BLRO) from my local AD about a month ago. For as long as I could remember, the Pepsi was Rolex to me. For as long as I've been into mechanical watches - about the last 5 years - the Pepsi was the one I wanted. I hate to admit it but as soon as I received it, I didn't wear it much because of the value on the gray market. It was tempting to immediately flip it for a quick profit.
After thinking about it for a month I decided to keep it, wear it and enjoy it. Rolexes are meant to be worn and enjoyed! Every time I looked at it I kept thinking "this thing is perfect." I was certain I would immediately regret it if I let it go. I think they nailed it with this watch. The size is perfect. The redesigned lugs are so elegant and work perfectly with the jubilee bracelet. It's the most comfortable, elegant watch I've ever owned, yet still masculine and sporty. I completely get the hype around this watch. I'm probably going to part ways with the Air-King I picked up a month earlier. It's a really cool watch, but I don't see it getting much wrist time now. The Pepsi has largely ruined all other watches for me because nothing seems to quite measure up. But I'm not quite ready to be a one watch guy either. I'm going to wear my Explorer II as my daily and the GMT as my dressier change of pace. Is there another watch you guys think would pair nicely with the Pepsi? I have it narrowed down to my black Explorer II, polar Explorer II, the mk2 Explorer or maybe even a Hulk. I appreciate any input. A note on the forum after 5 years and 2,000 posts. It's still the most gentlemanly place on the internet by a mile. Just a great community and a fantastic escape from the daily stress of work and bickering of politics. |

Okay, so I have a BLRO and an explorer 2 and I tend to wear them like you propose... dress down and dress up watches. You are looking for a third and you mentioned the Hulk which I have too btw but whilst it's a great watch I would strongly recommend a ss Skydweller as your next grail. You won't regret it. I adore mine and would choose it over the BLRO given the choice.

Congrats on the 2k posts Mike! If you change your mind about the BLRO let me know, I've been trying to pick one up everywhere with no luck

I can echo your comments re wearing it when new. I received my 126710BLRO in October 2018, and started wearing it sparingly. It was hard to ignore the stratospheric value ascension, but soon enough I had my first scratch, and I was off to the races. No point in owning it if you aren't going to use it!

Congratulations on 2000 and your thoughts on the BLRO
I agree, it’s difficult not to wear it all the time |

Pepsi for the win!
Let's face it, there is a lot of hype around some models right now but the Pepsi deserves and surpasses it. The watch triumphs over all the rest once acquired and worn. |

Congrats! My BLRO gets a lot of wrist time. AD delivered it to me in March 2019, started wearing it right away, for days in a row too. I continue to wear it a few times a week, but it definitely has picked up some battle scars no matter how careful I've been with it. In my eyes, it is the most perfect SS modern Rolex.

I've said it before, but it's absolutely amazing how quickly and how well Rolex revamped the entire GMT line in the last two years. I also had no idea how nice the jubilee bracelet was. |
