Picked up the sub no date 2020 - Bracelet is bulky

So got the call today, to pick it up for my father in law

After sizing it for him, noticed how much different it is from the old sub, it does wears small until you start feeling the clasp part, it is really bulky, all and all still a great solid piece

It is, they perfected it, I guess still not used to the bracelet width for me personally, but my in-laws seems to be okay with it.

Congrats. Are the center links on the new sub smaller? Not sure if it’s just the wider outer links but they look narrower to my eyes. Also can’t tell if they look shorter too

So having both in your hands, if you hand the 114060 would you trade in for the new one? I am getting the bluesy when it comes in, but might trade my 114060 for the new one at some point. In pics they don’t seem that different and maybe it is better to hand the new bluesy and old sub.

Part of the appeal of the prev gen was the bracelet. I think it's comfortable, functional and looks elegant. Likewise with the bracelet on my Explorer...

I'm reserving full judgement until I see one in the flesh, but I think it's a shame the bracelet needed to increase in size.

Looking at the watches side by side, whilst the newer one looks to have a nice profile, it looks like a bigger watch than the incremental increases would suggest. I'm curious to hear how they wear comparatively?

That's a great comparison picture!

I'm seeing more and more pictures like this where the new one actually looks slightly smaller than the old.

Well to my now quite old eyes you got to look really really hard to notice any difference as the difference is so minuscule.

Nice pick up!

The case shot seems like they are similar or 41mm slightly bigger but the clasp shot does show the significant increase!

BTW, if you take pic right handed, the watch on the right will always look bigger due to the angle.

Totally agree with this although the lug changes are noticeable and very welcome

Great question.... the pic of the faces shows the new watch on the left & if my eyes don’t deceive me the new bracelet is on the right... the picture does not really show a big difference in the clasps!

Is it just me or are the hour markers slightly smaller on the new sub?

Top image: New one is on the right (obvious due to fatter clasp)

I think the tapering on the old one is more refined. I always like a good tapered bracelet and wish it was more tapered on the day date

maybe it's because i've spent the better part of the past 16yrs looking at 2, 4, and 5mm bits, but the lug difference seems really obvious to me. i wouldn't kick either one out of bed. i can see how the new one might feel smaller. and now i want all 3.

props to the in-laws for good taste.

They both look great! The differences on the new sub are indescribable to 99.9% of the population!

It was in all the descriptions that I read. Slightly smaller markers.

Slightly longer Minute and Second hands.

21mm Lug spacing.

Slimmer lug look.

41mm Case.

more delicate crown guards.

Yeah, to me it is obvious. I think I like the new one better for the thinner lugs. The wider bracelet doesn’t bother me.

I’m looking forward to seeing it in person.
