The situation.

Some time ago I was one of the lucky ones to purchase a Hulk, and at a discount. So around 8k all in.

We have had some great times together, and I love it, but I’ve been wanting to give a Pepsi a try for some time. So when offered a trade for a 19 BLRO +1k on my end (my watch is 9 years old) I have become very interested, but still hesitant.

Pros...
The trade makes some sense as far price. Unless the Hulk continues to rise faster than the Pepsi.

Also I would still have an amazing SD43 diver. So w/ my Daytona C I would have a nice trio of sports models.

Cons...
On the other hand it’s a Hulk, and I’m sure I would miss its unique design every now, and then.

So what would you guys do? Am I crazy to consider trading my Hulk, and have any of you had the same dilemma?

I would do that trade in a heartbeat but personally the hulk doesn’t do much for me. I think you will have a better all-around trio with the Pepsi plus you are getting a near-new watch.

Assuming condition, etc. is equal, I would personally do it. But I don’t love the Hulk, and I’m a nut for GMTs. I also think your trio would be outstanding.

I would also do the trade and get the newer watch and cash. That means you'll own the BLRO for $7,000

Me personally, I would do it. Never been a fan of the green dial. So glad it went back to black.

$9000, not 7000. He has to put down an extra 1000 and his hulk in the deal, or at least that’s what I understood him to mean.

This is correct. Other scenario makes no sense.

It's a tough proposal to float to anyone who is not obsessive about the brand when thinking of buying the watch with the two-colour bezel for substantially more money than the one in green.

If you can afford to pay the delta and truly prefer the colour and movement enough to pay newrly 2x MSRP then fab. But there is no strategic moves to buying the jewellery in another colour for lots more money :)

I'd stick rather than twist. But then again I'd rather more watches which weren't green for my preference and $

I would not as I don't like the Jubilee Bracelet and the Pepsi ceramic bezel is too drab compared to the 5 digit.

The hulk is discontinued and I prefer it's appearance.

A hulk that old will sell for $15k to $15,500 wholesale or $16,500 to $17k max to an end user. You’re getting the better end of the deal financially. Personally I’d take the Pepsi over the hulk any day so I say go for it and don’t look back.

I would definitely do this deal, but that's only because I'm not interested in the 116610LV at all.

The hype around the Hulk will die down eventually. That is an insane deal. Go for it.

They’re two very different watches as I’m sure you’re aware.

The BLRO wears smaller and flatter on the wrist. I find it to be the most comfortable SS Rolex professional reference by far. The jubilee melts around the wrist and is also less constricted feeling. YMMV when it comes to fit and comfort.

That said, since you already have a diver, it’s not bad to consider this trade.

I would. Hulk is still a novielty like watch for me. But if green is your favorite color id keep it.

Pro tip: buy sub bracelet and put it on the GMT. All in for trade you’re probably around 3k.

If you like Pepsi more than the Hulk, go for it, it’s fair trade.

For me, I have both and love both very much, I wouldn’t do it.

Hulk is discontinued but Pepsi is still in the market, you can be on the waitlist at your AD to get one later.

The deal proposed is fair and it comes down to what you want. The Pepsi is a beautiful watch and I can not say enough good things about the jubilee bracelet and the comfort. I would however consider a trade of the SD43 and cash from you to get the Pepsi. The SD43 is a current production model and can be had again fairly quickly should you desire it again. That would give you the Daytona, Pepsi and the Hulk. That is a very impressive line-up and one that is hard to acquire.

I’ve said this before but I’ll say it again for your benefit. I regret every Rolex I have had but let go at some point over the past 42 years. I strongly urge you to attempt to work it out so you can have both. You might really appreciate this someday. Good luck!

Too tough to decide. You might end up missing the LV. I'd sooner part with the SD43 if that's a possibility.

I did the same and bought this Hulk 5 years ago for $8100. I bought a Batman around that time for just a little more. I traded my Batman up for the Pepsi plus a little cash and I do not regret that.
I love this LV and would not consider trading it for a Pepsi.
I agree with some others that I would trade the SD plus cash for the Pepsi.

Sounds OK on paper, ideally straight trade if you wanted to do it as I believe seller is just milking the deal for more £$
I think discontinued hulk can only go up in price in future, like original Kermit as neither watch is made anymore....
Naysayers and Hulk haters will always say you should trade, but if you are prone to sellers remorse (Rolex Remorse??!) don't do it.

I'd jump at that deal.
The Pepsi has much more going for it and has a more legible dial by far.
Also the the Pepsi is more wearable having more colours the hulk I find too much all the same.
IMHO.
