That’s gorgeous and holy crap a lot of watch for 17k. With a discount you’ll probably be able to get into this for what 12k eventually? That’s amazing.

I saw that too, such a lot of watch, the case design has been growing on me too!

New Bulgari Chrono
This is one of my favorites from this year’s Basel (and there aren’t many) but wish they kept the case at 40mm

That would have been preferred by me too but apparently the inclusion of the peripheral rotor necessitated the jump to 42.

If AP had produced this watch instead of CODE 11.59, they'd been receiving all the high praises.
Bvlgari is doing something right with Genta's design. This looks like Royal Oak for the 21st Century. |

Without question. It would be the hottest watch of the year and VIPs would be lining up to pay 50k+

The Hodinkee article says this watch: (1) is "an automatic chronograph with a GMT function that can proudly claim the title of being the world's thinnest mechanical chronograph"; (2) is "made of sandblasted titanium with a titanium dial and a titanium bracelet to match"; (3) has "the movement is just 3.3mm thick, setting yet another record: this is the thinnest automatic chronograph caliber ever made"; (4) uses "a peripheral rotor in solid platinum"; (5) adjusts "the local time by pushing the button set into the case at nine o'clock, making it easier to quickly change time zones on the go"; (6) is only "$17,600". This is the watch AP should've produced as "Royal Oak for the 21st Century", and charged $50K+ for it. |

That looks nice but I do like chronos on most watches. I tried on an octo before and wow it’s like nothing is on your wrist!

I'm not totally down with the aesthetics. However, what they've done with the movement is to be commended. I'd always written off Bulgari, but I'm keen to see one in the flesh after reading the article.

Bulgari deserves more recognition for the Octo lineup

For years now, I’ve suggested members give the Octos serious consideration — maybe this is the piece that finally opens their ears & eyes. |

Tried an Octo a few months ago, feels very very very light on the wrist. Almost like a plastic toy, there is no heft. I love it

As everyone else stated, if AP produced something to this caliber, it would cost $40k and be the darling of social media and the WIS community.
Honestly, for the last 2 or 3 years, I feel like the old-guard (AP, Rolex. Patek) are slipping and resting on their laurels. There is much better value and innovation elsewhere nowadays. This is a prime example of that.

been reading up on this and i really like it. as others have said, i would obviously have preferred it at 40 or 39mm, but i understand the need given the rotor. i would love to try one on in person, as i think this could be a nearly perfect travel watch. my fear is that it will look huge given how flat it is.
question...can the bracelet be removed? a part of me thinks it might look nicer on leather |
