New scratch on EXP II this one hurt. Advice?

Hey guys. Just noticed this long scratch on the polished side of the lugs. I have a few dings on the lug edges but they don’t seem to bother me as much. Worst part is I can’t recall how on earth this happened! It’s on the polished side. I’ve heard of people using scotch pads before, has this worked for you? It’s not very deep I can hardly feel it with my nail. Should I just leave it till service?

Maybe post pics of your scars to make me feel better haha

You can purchase on Amazon. Should take care of the scratch unless it’s a scar.

I'd say leave it, I have a very similar scratch on my Explorer II and I never notice it unless I'm purposely looking for it. Doesn't bother me in the slightest.

The bracelet of my sub looks the same. For some reason case marks bug me much more than bracelet. May just be me

I'd just leave all the scratches there and wear the heck out of it. I'd not polish the watch often since this will wear out the case and lose the resale value.

I would just throw the watch out, personally.

It's one thing if it was a sport or tool watch, but seeing as it's a really elegant dress watch that should only be worn with a three piece it is pretty much valueless in the state it is in now.

Careful with scotch pads, they’re for the brushed part only.

Get a little cape cod and hide it a bit. It’s a good looking scratch though. Battle wound!

Cape Cod cloth will take care of the majority of that scratch. While it may not achieve perfection, it should satisfy.

Scotch brite pads are for the brushed sections.

I have a few of those on each piece. I'd wait until a service. It's an ExII, scratches are required, right? ;)

Min 2400 grit or higher wet/dry (use water) sandpaper wrapped around a flat plastic knife or, any flat plastic utensil. Finish with cape cod.

So funny, those side scratches don’t bother me at all. A ding on the edge of a lug though, drives me crazy

He’s right, forget it. It’s part of the life of a watch. I never polish any of mine. Each scar has its own memory

Its funny actually seeing this thread. I wore an Apple Watch for years with a bumper case and shield protector and it stayed pristine the whole time. Two days after wearing my Rolex, I notice a nice gash on the side. I don't even know how it happened. Soon afterward, I started getting scratches on the bezel and band. This was only a week in. At this point, I'm just going to let it happen. I mean I did get this watch to wear it and the scratches are starting to grow on me. :D

I have a huge scratch down the polished side of my Tudor GMT deep enough I can feel it with my nail. It bothered me for a few weeks so I feel your pain. Now I just don't care as much even though I still notice it. It will get repaired at service or maybe I will ignore it then too.

Leave it be.
Soon, you won't notice it.

You may screw up trying to polish it yourself.
And more scratches will occur--it's inevitable, like death and taxes.

Its just a watch so I'd leave it be.

A big scratch down the side of my car would bother me. On a watch, not so much.
