The hour hand in my 116710 is stuck. Believe the clickspring would need to be replaced. The watch is out of warranty but I don't think it needs a full service yet as I rarely wear it. TIA.

Why not just drop it off at rsc?

I'd recommend Manuel Chamosa. He worked at RSC for almost 15 years and has had his own practice for almost 30 years since then. He's a great guy, very knowledgeable, and loves to chat about watches. He wears a gorgeous vintage Daytona as his daily -- which doesn't really matter but it's beautiful ha. Great rates too.

+1. I haven't personally met him, but have heard many good things about him.

We have our close by RSC location. Use it have them check your watch over well get it back good as new !

Does RSC require mandatory service and cleaning even if it just a parts replaced?

I don't believe there are any independent watch makers left in Dallas/Ft. Worth with a parts account. Rolex is shutting them all down.

If part of the watch is no longer functioning correctly I’d say it is in need of a service.

I don’t know any competent watchmaker that would agree to take that on as a part job, and I would be very suspicious of the quality of the work of one that does.

A service is not expensive (relative to the value of the watch), so if you wanted to get the work done cheaply by skipping the service and just replacing the part; it’s not really worth a good watchmaker’s time to take it on.

Seeing how you are from Dallas I can only assume you know what that stands for.

I was typing and did not pay attention when I was doing so.

We have a RSC here in dallas. I was simply trying to say just to take the watch to RSC. Have them fix it and make sure it is correct. I figured this would fall under his asking for recommendations???

Many indies seen this coming down the pike and have hoarded several years worth of Rolex parts. I know at least one who has. Just because they cannot get parts directly from Rolex anymore doesn't mean there aren't other channels
