2021...What are your Goals?

With the year we have all had. Whether you were directly or indirectly affected by the pandemic and its calamity. With such a terrible year behind us. Let’s face it, no one was ready even the CDC or the WHO. I’m not blaming anyone. Sucked period. I think it’s here to stay unfortunately and I see no signs of it letting up. Hopefully through time it will evolve into something like the common cold and be less destructive.

In the mean time with 2020 almost behind us
What are your GOALS?

Mine are:
I have 3 major ones
Well 4

1. Million Dollars in the bank ( I know it’s not a lot, but you can use it to make a lot)
2. Get Married to my Best Friend
3. Make an offer on a house that someone already lives in and buy everything in it as well. I have driven by this house for 15 years about and have always wanted to purchase it. Market Value, I am unsure but on the water. Cape Cod
4. Make a Baby

If you believe it, it will happen!!!!
Life is an open book and your the author, just saying.

What about you.

I like your question and I wish you the best in achieving all those goals in 2021!

My top 3

1. Get my semi vintage Bronco completely restored.

2. Ride a motorcycle at the Isle of Man.

3. Do more this upcoming year at giving back more to those around me.

My 4th goal and this one is a hard one so I don’t nail it down to a year, find and purchase a rifle my 7 times great grandfather built for the council of safety during the revolutionary war.

Investing even more into my health / well being.

Spending more time with family.

Buying as many watches as I can.

Ultimately just doing what it takes to enjoy life to the fullest and be extremely healthy both physically and mentally. Without that the rest are a tad difficult.

Great topic!

1.) Like Pw above, I'd like to work on my patience (this is every year!)
2.) Continue to build on our investments
3.) Cutback on the fast food and sugar...I love me some McDonald's and gummy bears
4.) Fun one - acquire the Corvette / GMT / OP41 Turquoise that I'm on the list for; now THAT would be a nice 2021
4b.) Reduce some of the watch collection to make room for the above
5.) Help my kids to accomplish whatever they're trying to do at this age. Our 5 year old just started with piano lessons / soccer, so it would nice to see him continue to enjoy those things and grow with them

I'm sure I'll come up with more later!

Be happy.

It’s as simple as that.

I am reasonably healthy (and any ill-health is my own doing so can’t complain), my kids are both healthy and both have jobs, my business is trading just fine despite Covid, i have an amazing wife who is healthy, we live in a house i could only have dreamed of, i have a car that i was determined to buy the day it was announced, we go on amazing holidays all over the world with two friends that we adore, my dogs love me, i live in the countryside with a great pub, i have close friends that share my passions, and i have a watch collection that blows my mind!

I have always wanted more, and that is a big part of how I’ve achieved what I’ve achieved despite coming from a very difficult background. I need to change.

Sure, i still need to get in better shape, still need to learn some languages, still need to do a load of building work, still need to grow the business, and still need a perpetual calendar...but none of that matters, i already have everything that matters, and a lot more.

I’m 46 now, it’s time to stop chasing and start enjoying.

Learn Excel (cannot rely on my paralegal since retirement).
Become more comfortable actively trading stocks.
Learn to annoy the crap out of my family with a ukulele (should be very easy)

“Continue building my donation resume”.

Fantastic goal. Just added it to my list for 2021.

Also, I will make more of an effort to stay connected online with friends in 2021.

Would definitely like to do more to help others beyond food/money donations

Tried to get an (essentially unpaid) advisory role recently for one in NYC but not successful.

Would be happy to make my professional skills learnt work harder to benefit others.

My goals for 2021:
  • Visit my kids/grandkids in Minnesota as soon as COVID permits.
  • Convince my wife to join me in retirement ASAP.
  • Try to reverse my declining health pattern.
  • Acquire a nice 5512/5513 for investment and wearing.
  • Lose 50 pounds (again).

A million dollars in the bank?

To me that is a huge amount of money and barring a lottery win will not happen in this lifetime.

Edit; Thought about what I just said.......I don't play the lottery.

2021...What are your Goals?

1. Increase quality of family time
2. Improve my communication skills
3. Continue to improve physical health and activities
4. Become more active in the community, join any sort of organization
5. Raise enough cash to expand my wife’s business or buy another rental property
6. Keep better track of my progress on my non-work goals throughout the year (apply some of the same principles I use at work)

Edit: 7. Don’t get distracted by shiny things (may need to reduce time spent on this forum and at my AD in order to achieve this one...).
