Car Love Thread

Figured I’d start a new one for today. If you are so inclined, please post some pics of your own. A little story is always fun too. Pickups, SUV’s, classics, exotics, muscle etc. love for all cars.

As evidenced through my tenure here, I’m a big car lover. I’ve had a hell of a car journey. I’d like to believe I’ve finally got my perfect set up.

On top of that, I started GS Motor Club as a bit of a hobby. It’s been a lot of fun. So these cars I’m posting essentially revolve around that.

Sure, maybe a bit of flex going on. Hard to deny that. But really it’s just a sharing of my hobby and my passion for cars. I enjoy looking at, reading about, and learning from others more so than I do my own. Hence one of the reasons to start this new thread.

Brabus G550 - to haul gear to and from shows. Heck of a show car.
Cayanne Turbo - the daily. Just getting new wheels and tints and maybe a black skirt along the bottom. More pics when I get her back.
AMG GTR - the track car. The hammer.
Porsche 992 Turbo S Cab - the other daily. The scalpel. So fast. So precise.

Beautiful cars

I have had a few

My first Mercedes, great little car, hated to part with it.

My first BMW, this one was fun and relatively few problems, made the mistake of moving up

My last BMW, total nightmare and will never own the brand again

Went back to Mercedes, car was flawless, only traded it because I could

My current car and she is a dream

It was your love of Mercedes that brought me back to the brand. Glad it did. Loving their cars. Thinking about adding the GT sedan at some point in the future.

Love their cars. Great tech. Reliable. And ooze quality.

This is my third Mercedes and I'm never going to switch to another maker. Several years ago I purchased a Porsche Macan-S and it was a nightmare right out of the gate. Dumped it within 3 months, went back to Mercedes again and could not be happier.

I sold my wife’s macan S after a few months did t like it one bit. My cfo has a Macan gts and I love it.

Macan is a great vehicle. The S too. Just depends on a lot. Porsche in general is imo the pinnacle of cad making. On pretty much every level.

While I am enjoying my Subaru Outback, the anti-fancy choice, my wife has the Mercedes GLE-400 and loves it like our children.

I never intended to get her a Mercedes. We had a series of Infiniti QX-56's and believed they represented the highest level of luxe out there. We would still be getting them if not for the re-design that we both hated. Infiniti forced us to look elsewhere for a luxury SUV and my wife suggested we look at Mercedes. I scoffed at the idea - too expensive! But eventually we went for a peek. I made her promise several times that she understood we were only in the exploratory stage and we didn't even want a test drive. Many more brands out there to consider.

"Yeah, yeah, I understand. Just looking around."

So we trot off to a dealership and my intention was to shoot down the idea of buying a Mercedes, pointing out every reason along the way as to why we were NOT going with this brand. Next thing I knew we were walking out of the dealership and I stopped dead in my tracks. It's all a blur to me, but somehow we had a lease for a brand new Mercedes SUV. I was confused and she was grinning like a crazy person.

Nice collection. I had a C280 Sport Model W202 just like yours. It was a blast to drive and nightmare to own. So many fun track days. Totally unreliable for me and non Mercedes like. Traded it in after 1 year. Out of 30 Mercedes in my life this was my only lemon.

Seth, great lineup there! My Dad is a serious car nut so growing up I was around a mix of classics, exotics and luxury. I actually learned to drive stick on '91 Testarossa, man I wish he had kept that car.

I'm more of a practical guy; Toyota 4Runner, Toyota Highlander and a '95 Jeep YJ Sahara for the weekends.

I know you guys have seen my C8, but what's the joy in having a car if you can't share it with anyone?

My two boys, putting in work and enjoying the ride on the PCH...

Beautiful and that color choice is fantastic! I bet it's really fun doing drives down the PCH coastline. I've never really been a modern Vette guy but I have always loved the Stingrays from the 1960s. Yours is the first modern one that has made me change my mind. Around the same time you posted yours when you got it, I saw a few others on the road and they are incredible. Chevy did such a great job with these new ones. Such a great bang for the buck.

Hey Seth - collection is becoming epic. As they say...find something you like and you won't work a day in your life. So happy you're living the best you.
Gonna be a lot of content in this thread and I'll be happy to add to it later.
Granted...it's all fun and games until FastMD shows up and drops the mic.......

i really like the 992, think they did a great job making it look wider and more aggressive, and i think the turbo especially looks amazing

surprised you got rid of the lambo, you had the evo right? any plans to add a lambo/ferrari back in the future? your collections always have all the dream cars lol

I’m in love with the 992. It’s truly an incredible car. The looks, the performance. Everything.

I don’t miss the evo. That car was epic. Truly epic. The sound the drive. Everything. But it was soooo much attention. Too much. Clearly I don’t mind attention. But this was another level. Dangerously so.

It also had zero space. And was very uncomfortable.

I’ll go back to exotic someday I think. But that’s a big maybe. I rented a McLaren 600lt for a weekend in Miami. Wasn’t a fan.

I’d likely do a Ferrari Roma or something.

While the 992 is rocket ship fast and blows the doors off most any car, including exotic, bring the fastest isn’t my biggest priority. I enjoy the drive. The twists and turns and the feeling a car inspires. I like to be on the road for long drives. A lot of exotics fail in that.

I think Ferrari more than anything wins in that category and likely the next one. Hopefully not for a long time. I’m exhausted. Lmao.

i could definitely see the attention being cool at first but getting annoying. i feel like the 992 turbo s is probably the best all around car from what everyone is saying. insanely fast but also a very good daily and not too flashy

Was just thinking we needed something like this!

I've said it before, but I've never been a car guy in the past. Picked up a BMW 135i for fun last summer and it turned me on to things a bit speedier. Seeing the C8 in pictures was enough to say "that's the one!". We got rid of the 135i and are impatiently waiting for the C8, which will be here in Sept (hopefully).

Current family movers are an Audi A6 and an Infiniti QX60. Those won't change for awhile.
