I love both. I picked up a used 116710LN (m serial) last April and it became more or so my every day watch. I even paired it with a RAF 007 strap (navy, olive, maroon) and it looks awesome. The LN's black bezel and dial pretty much match everything.
Then I picked up a new 116710BLNR 3-4 weeks ago. I seldom take it off my wrist. Actually, I only wear the LN during Phila. Eagles events due to the subtle green touches. One nice touch about the BLNR 1/2 bezel is the blue isn't overpowering so it also matches pretty much all outfits. |

BLNR is the best
I have both, the BLNR is superior but I do wear the all black to work, it’s more understated

I’ve tried on the blnr and the hulk several times. I really wanted to love at least one of them as they’re unique, but I just couldn’t. 114060 was the one for me

Black GMT is easily assumed to be a Sub from far and a more general observer is familiar with Sub and will assume the GMT is a sub. Does the GMT no good service. That's how I feel. Nobody associates a black bezel to a GMT. Usually it's like "Hey that's a great looking Submariner" even when it's a GMT.

I must say that I like the black best, with the subtle green accents.

I also prefer the black on black much more. The BLNR is indeed a special piece and it can be a great 2nd or 3rd watch, especially if one I don`t have a GMT.
Pulled the trigger on new 166710LN last November from a dealer in London. Have been wearing it every single day since then and could not be happier. |

I just got the LN but I'm feeling should I have gone for the BLNR instead? The LN was at a good price whereas the BLNR is at its usual overpriced above retail rate. Can someone assure me the LN is the more serious and professional choice compared to the more playful and "loud" BLNR? I work in a professional business environment. I thought the BLNR may be a bit attention seeking in a meeting environment perhaps whereas the LN will be more understated and elegant. In a cocktail party though the reverse maybe true. Anyone feels which is right for me?

The BLNR was appealing at one time, but all the continuous talk of Batman Batman Batman Batman Batman Batman Batman Batman Batman Batman
Just wore me out.

No, but I love my BLNR. To each their own.

I've often thought that, to the untutored eye, the black GMT probably looks like a Sub.

Agreed, LN for me. I can see why people might like the BLNR so much, but I'm just not a fan of the 2-color bezel, seems almost a bit childish for such an otherwise great looking watch (unpopular opinion, i know).

I’m on your side. I like the simple and classy look. I don’t like color on my gadget

I have the LN as at the time the BLNR didn't exist. I think the LN is more versatile, wether cajole or with suit, the black just fits all dress code.. The BLNR is to my taste a more cajole beast, but I would love to own one. For instance I could see the LN on a black alligator strap with white stitches, while a BLNR would have to be on a brown vintage leather.. This is just to explain how much the small difference between these 2 watches, really makes them 2 distinct watches! I would definitely buy a BLNR if one comes my way... But I would not sell my LN for a BLNR.

Just bought a BLNR from my local AD last week. I wasn't planning on it, just surprised to see they had it. I tried it on, and couldn't stop looking at it.
I walked out of the store with it (after paying, of course). Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk |

No you are not the only one! :) BLNR is overhyped and coloured ceramic bezels look cartoonish compared to black and older style painted ss Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I liked the look and playfullness of the BLNR but suddenly after months of looking and dreaming of the BLNR I bought the LN instead. I'm still trying to live with that decision but I think I will love the LN more in the long run. The BLNR bezel somehow seems unbalance to me and part of the perfectionist in me prefers a full coloured bezel, either all black or all blue. There must be a better way of implementing blue and black bezel than splitting it into half.

I had my name on list for a BLNR. AD got LN first and I bought it same day. Even if people who are 'uninitiated' think its a Sub thats fine with me. I like its subtle touches of colour, and versatility for everyday. My watch doesn't need to shout - as long as I love it - I'm good.
PS - BLNR is beautiful either way. |

This. Have worn the LN as my daily driver for 10 years. Haven't tired of it yet! If Rolex updates at Basel with new movement, case, and offers a coke bezel, I would be tempted though...

My wife hates the batman and prefers either the Pepsi or the classic black. I don’t hate the batman but prefer the all black tt.

I was in the same boat. When I purchased my M series LN in March 2017, used BLNRs were only going for $500 to $750 more. The LN wears great with everything. Also looks great with many NATO and RAF straps especially the Navy blue, Olive and maroon James Bond one. The only negative opinion I can say about the LN is both the green GMT hand and dial font can be hard to read. I wish Rolex could have used a red GMT hand. When I had a chance to buy the BLNR early last month, I couldn’t resist it despite the MSRP price. To me, the BLNR is nearly identically to the LN except in bright lights as that's when the blue stands out. That's when the 2 Blue items on the watch really pop. I also like how all dial text is white. If you like straps, less color options match it. I also work in a professional environment is the BLNR fits right in like the LN. Both watches are great and one can't go wrong picking either one. I do think BLNR is slightly more special because of the blue but it woun't stand out at events when wearing a short sleeve shirt like a Pepsi dial. That dial screams look at me (and I love it), I can't speak to the GMT2-C Coke dial as we haven’t seen one yet. |
