I too had a black dssd and let it go. Missed it a lot, as I used to wear it frequently. Picked up the blue about two weeks ago. Love the dial, now I just have to wear it!

That pic is the reason I've switched my next purchase from the Hulk to the Deep blue
Look at that size difference!! Sub and GMT look tiny

I think I am already part of a dying breed ...
Funny how people on the Rolex-forum in august 2014 were disgusted to pay 250 dollars more for a Cameron dial and now 1 year later price differences go up to even 5000 dollars for that dial on Chrono24-site. It is a crazy (Rolex) World... |

Good luck....Rolex is still low in the supply department.....I honestly do not know why
First you want to honor Cameron and than you supply the AD with one or two a year (here in Europe) so you make it virtually impossible for the fans to buy it.....beats me. My best take is that they produced an enormous amount of Black DSSD...so "pushing " people forward to buy those (which is a wonderful watch as well) first....and hopefully pick up production later (not hopefully for me since as an owner I want it to be limited....ahum) |

My AD had one that was sold but traded in for a different watch. Never took off the stickers- not even worn... Only problem is they would not budge on price. $11,500 plus tax- I don't pay tax on Rolex. Call it a point of pride or whatever but I didn't pay it on my first and I won't pay it on this purchase.

FWIW, my wife bought mine here in NY for list at tourneau (I know, I know, but I got one)
Long story short, I was in Aruba this past week for my wedding/honeymoon. The dealer down there had at least 2 that I saw (hit all 3 shops shopping for her) and supposedly has another 3-4 in reserve. For 11,100ish US. Not sure if anyone's looking....I paid 12,350 here in NY and was happy to get my hands on one period. |

I got my DSSD D-Blue since yesterday. I bought it from a AD. But i think it might be too thick. Will I get used to it? I love the dial!

I just bought my kids this month's National Geographic today (Global Cooling issue). Inside front cover is 2-page Deep Blue Advert.
