Bravo ! Bravo !
Now mark your place in Seiko History !
One of the die hard Seikoholic fan from the WUS forum wasnt exactly comfortable with name "62MAS reissue" given to the SLA017 so he coined the term 8LMAS

I have to agree. It's a gr8 name

EXACTLY my feelings. This is the diver I always wished GS would have made. The case size and the hands are finally something I can live with. On top of that, the case and movement are almost at GS levels of quality.

Thanks Steve!

Haha, you really did! That supply of 2000 is decreasing every time somebody opens this thread.

Wow. I've got a couple of 6309s, and love them just as much as any Rolex. Enjoy it!

for reference, MSRP was 26,500 HKD ($3,393)... the AD gave 10% discount. there's no sales tax or VAT here. way better than 3800 euros!

Congratulations Bob the AD manager told me mine had been in the window for less than a day, and the saleswoman told me the model was "very famous"

For me, the SLA017 is not just a good vintage style diver -- It's also a strong statement from Seiko, in terms of the value of its brand and history.

of course, it was difficult to leave the AD without buying anything else from the Prospex or Grand Seiko displays

Morning Bob(BST +7)Heartiest Congratulations Sir!Check this out.Based on today's official statistics of a total of 7 518 183 xxx, the owners of the Seiko SLA 017 / 8LMAS represent just 0.000000266 % of the current World population !

I just had a couple of funny messages from friends over at WUS and The Dive Watch Connection forums. One was asking 'What the Hell is going on over there (subsection non Rolex forum)?" Another was asking "How much is the SLA 017 going for in your country?" One commented "You guys have lots of great photos"'and apparently quite a number of them have read your advice to contact the Seiko NYC and are rushing to the boutique to get One !! (or two..) OMGawddd

Awesome photos Sir. I believe you have single-handedly made the SLA 017 a very critical and desirable timepiece to own !Thank You Sir and because of you, I now have one in my name but you sure are persuasive (or should I say Rubbing It In ! )for the others who are still undecided

Congrats on the buy
That limited edition number now has a Malaysian owner, the well known Mr Meor Amri Meor Ayob.Mr.Meor is a very passionate watch collector with a huge collection of watches,an experienced watch journalist who regularly contributes articles to wristreview.com (Eastern and Western Watch blogsite). He has just posted a thread on the Malaysian Watch Forum entitled "My 911 ".Pretty sure he will be reviewing the SLA 017 very objectively so do check out his blog site wristreview.com.

The boutique is 500km + from my working place so I told the GM I would collect the watch next month as I need to take a couple of days off and make the necessary travelling arrangements.

He posted some photos so here they are.I've already chosen my number but the some history buffs and watch nerds are really gonna get a kick if they knew one of the LE numbers
> first LE unit has a three digit number 8xx/2000
>The second LE is a four digit 13xx/2000

Now the third LE is a three digit combination but the significance of it lies in the fact that it is a date which will live in infamy, a date that changed life in America and reshaped World History !
Congrats! Nice watch!

Haha, "chuffed" is exactly the word to describe how I feel about getting this watch!

I agree with you, Bob. Not only the comfort, but the quality feels right up there with my Omega, Rolex and Panerai watches. The bracelet leaves a little to be desired, but I never had any intention of taking it off the rubber strap, unless maybe to put it on a NATO.

Every time I check this thread there are three more new owners, I love it. Congrats to all!
