To each their own. I like the green hand of the LN. I like the dual color bezel of BLNR.

Seems like the debate is heating up with opinions! I’m in the LN camp for the SS GMT. The BLNR never really appealed to me either. I went from the LN to the the TT to the YG with green dial and I added the BLRO last week! I prefer the weight and feel of the PM. Many people don’t like the PM sports models, but I’m one of the ones that gets it!

Too funny.
I recently did a search for the all black GMT and sadly found very few of them.
I really prefer the all black!

Love them both.....but if forced to choose as a one and only keeper...it’d be the black

Black is not a color for this situation, black is the absence of color so a black watch goes with anything and everything. Adding blue may not make a big difference but unless yo are color blind makes it clash with at least a few colors.

The black/blue definitely gives it a less serious, more casual look. I liked it in pictures but found the particular blue that Rolex used too bold in person.

I have had both and hands down for me BLNR is a better looking watch.

I have an older GMT in black and purchased the BLNR a few years ago. If I could only have one, I would choose a new all black model.

The fact that the BLNR is hard to come by seems to affect how much people like it. I honestly believe many here just buy it because others want it and not because they truly love it.

I like the LN myself but I tend to like less flash. If you threw some red font and a red GMT hand on the LN it would be far more popular than it is currently.

I’ve owned both the BLNR and the LN. In fact I guess I’ve owned 3 LN’s on different occasions over the years. Today, it’s the BLNR for me and I’ve never looked back. But either watch is fantastic and it’s more just a preference. Eventually I succumbed to the blue side.

Agree the black is more subtle and doesn’t put too much flash. Considered the LN and then I saw the blnr and never looked back 😅

You can't add "definitely" to a sentence and make it less nonsensical.

BLNR for me. But before I got one, I was aiming for the LN. There's just something about those big, bold, white digits on the black bezel that draw the eye. The blue on the BLNR just underlines the eye-catchiness.

Either one is a win.

I prefer blue over green, so I went with the BLNR. I really like the bezel. It sings outside in the sunshine, but indoors, depending on the lighting, it can look all-black, which makes it conservative enough to use as an everyday watch.

The only downside that I can see is that the blue GMT hand is sometimes difficult to see (especially in low lighting conditions). Green may be more visible than blue in this regard, but red would be even better.

I prefer the all black as well, with a 5 digit Pepsi close behind.

Owned the BLNR, sold it, now have LN, love it the same.
See my avatar!

I also wonder if the scarcity of the Hulk drives people to buy it vs. they really like it.

Green was never my favorite color so the Kermit and Hulk hype didn´t catch me just as the green GMT hand.
So I prefer the BLNR.

[QUOTE=HogwldFLTR;8136891]I like the black better than any of the multi-color combinations. The black looks professional as the others look contrived and gimmicky to me.[/QUOTE

While I had my 16700 I wore it with the three different bezels. Pepsi: I really wanted a Pepsi GMT; I sought it with a fevered compassion and when I got it I really felt I'd accomplished the acquisition of my grail.

Time passed and I found a good deal on black and coke bezel inserts. I traded the Pepsi and replaced it with the Black bezel. The watch transformed. It went from cartoon to professional in my eye. In my honest opinion it was no longer trying to look like a pilot's watch but looked like a serious tool for travel or anything else one chose to throw at it.

I still had the unused Coke insert so I thought I should at least try it on the 16700. Frankly it did nothing for me. Perhaps my understanding that the bezel insert never being available on the 16700 dampened my view of the insert watch combo but for me it just didn't make me lustful towards it.

Ultimately the only watches for me that don't seem pretentious are the blacks. The blue black color scheme is still a throwback to the pilots and the early blue and reds even though the color combination has changed. Frankly I'm not that wild about the color combination either. My perspective is mine and mine alone; others are entitles to their own povs. I don't want to share my watch with history unless it's history which I make for myself.

I'm screwed because I like them all. I have a LNc, 16710 with all the bezels, and i'm sitting here thinking of adding a BLNR or going full dummy and pulling the trigger on a WG BLRO. I also have my explorer II for the days I want a colorless second time zone. Maybe I should skip the WG and buy the BLNR and a polar lol.

In the end, the Ceramic LN sang to me the loudest and was my first GMT and Rolex purchase. There is something special about it.

The BLRO was my grail watch since the mid-1980s so I’ll always have a soft spot in my heart (and head?) for it. I also prefer the 5-digit cases to the newer maxi cases.
