Excellent writeup
I recognize myself in both sides, and I'm 3 steps away from the top of the list
The journey is as much fun as the destination

I sort of defy the arc. I actually wear my vintage pieces less and less over time, but take them out to take pictures and just look at them more and more. To me it is like my vintage comic books and baseball cards, they are fun to read through once, but the greater entertainment to me is in the preservation of their condition. That doesn't mean I don't wear them for short periods of time when I can guarantee there is no potential for damage, but preservation of their condition has become my priority above all else.

I know what you mean Q. I have a handful of watches where the condition is as nice as you can find, and I suspect like you, these watches do not see much wear. Others in my collection have some wear on the case, and I am more likely to wear these if I am in a vintage mood.

I am trying to be less of a "collector" with watches. It is in my DNA, but really fighting it these days. What I love about timepieces is that they were made to be worn and the process of age and use can make them more beautiful.

I only have two vintage watches so far and been very careful with my purchases. The goal is to skip the quantity over quality phase and slowly build a collection that is consistently worn.

This forum has been an incredible resource!
