My First Watch PP 5713/1G
I bought it in 2012 and it seems that it is not popular model in this forum.
Did I make a mistake ? |

A little too much bling for me but I´d love a 5711/1G.

If you bought it because you love it then it's never a mistake! If you bought it because you may want to sell it-then possibly ....generally diamonds are not popular on Mens watches and jewelry but if you like it no one else's opinions really matter...

As others have mentioned, diamond bezel on a men's watch is a niche market. It seems more popular in certain parts of the world. If you like it, enjoy the watch!

If you love diamonds it's great, if you hate them it is too blingy, very subjective type of watch

Diamonds are not so popular on this forum across all the brands but if you like it that's all that matters.

I'm not a diamond guy, so I prefer the standard steel version. Still a great piece though

No I don't think so, I would never ever buy a watch with diamonds, and even tried to dissuade my wife getting a Rolex with diamonds markers, she has enough stones on other jewelry, that didn't work, as for me a watch, man's or woman's should be without diamonds, but it is just a personal taste, some members here with incredible PP collections, Elliott for example since he answered this thread, have Nautilus models with diamond bezels, and you can't say he lacks taste when you see the Pateks he has, so if making a mistake is not going like the majority then yes, but I think that all tastes should be answered by watch brands, for me making a mistake is getting a 5960-1A new from Patek at retail, yes that is a big mistake, on getting a Nautilus with diamonds it is absolutely not for me but this is just subjective, I mean he didn't get a Hublow with diamonds after all the important is if he likes it, not what the majority of us like or think

I had the option to purchase either a 5713 without a mark-up or a 5711 with a mark-up 2 years ago. I opted for the 5713, even though the 5713 without a mark-up was still more than double the cost of the marked-up 5711. In general, I am an understated kind of guy. I am not "blingy." I just loved the look of the 5713 and I also preferred white gold over stainless. You cannot go wrong either way. Different strokes for different folks. The since-discontinued 5713 (production years circa 2008-2011) is definitely more rare, for whatever that is worth (which may be nothing at all).

In hindsight I am sure it was the much better buy. I bet it’s worth a mint in this market. Who would have thought gem set sports watches would be so en vogue just a few years back. Not me I’ll admit!

No you didn't. 5713 is a rare sight!
If I could have chosen such, I would have picked one up too. |

It’s not my cup of tea but it’s a VERY rare bird so in this market you def did NOT make a mistake. I am sure you could get a fortune for it on trade.
