Looking for that third watch...5980, hulk and ?

Hello Everyone,

I have this same thread up on the general rolex page... I have a 5980/1a and a LV. I don't really wear suits so that rules out dress watches...I don't really like AP... What would you add as a third watch?

A 5740 will be a great addition.

There's a wide option for this personally I'd get a gold piece but if you're not into gold I think 5960 is pretty interesting not being another nautilus. 5164 would also be a great addition. If you want another brand the new generation vc in bluedial is awesome too

Another vote for the 5164...adds a different dial color, a different complication, and different band material

If I had what you currently have, I'd add a 5164.

5164R or a PM daytona on OF

I would add one sports watch in PM, but on rubber........ which means a YM, Daytona, or Aquanaut

What’s your budget?
Are you against pre-owned?
How open minded are you?

Posting this same thread in this section is only likely to get you the usual Patek nominations, unless that’s exactly what you were aiming for?

You have a chrono and a diver. If you're going the complication route perhaps either a GMT, a World Timer, or a calendar function (Annual or perpetual). You already have steel so you could consider precious metal.

You don't need to wear a suit to rock a dress watch, @watchrookie on instagram knows the score

Something on Rubber?

Daytona Oysterflex
5167
VC Overseas
DJ41 on Jubilee

Something different than what you have, don't fall in the trap of adding a variant of the Hulk (so many on the Rolex collection are just the same watch with a slight change)

5164r/a would be cool with what you already have. I really like the hulk the more I see it.

Thanks guys.... before I had the 5980, I had a Daytona and a 5712R... this was back in 2016...5712r never fit me right... sold it... 5164 fits a sweet spot... great ideas

100% agree... I don’t need a collection of the Batman, hulk, S43 etc... I’ll take the hulk, 5980 and maybe something PM on rubber. Dunno, it’s hard to decide.
