Sounds like the neg feedback is totally justified. No reason why $4K shouldn't be forthcoming now if the facts are as indicated by OP.

The watch was returned so the money should also have been returned by mr Hirsch.

I'm not sure how the owner thinks 1/2 of your money is sufficient even for a 1st payment? We're not talking about a ridiculous amount of money (for someone that buys and sells fine watches/jewelry) I think I would demand a FULL refund IMMEDIATELY... period! if they'd like to avoid the negative feedback and/or small claims suit they should be jumping at the chance. I can't understand how some businesses will take a chance on losing their credibility over something like this. Its not like there aren't numerous choices for these kind of purchases. Very short sighted in my opinion.

Icon7 Update: refund recieved

Time for an update...

Great news, folks! The carpet bombing approach was a success!
The money was transfered last week and reached my bank today!
Then again, I got $4000, but paid $4700, so there is (at least) $700 to go...

I am really thankful for your inputs, and extra thankful for the ones that took contact with the seller aswell! I really think that's what got his going
for real!

I will continue with an update with what happens in a near future.

Of course they have the cash. They're just being dicks and taking advantage of an overseas buyer in the hope he'll give up and move on. Its bad enough when private sellers pull these stunts but so much worse when B&M's pull this crap.

Update: refund recieved!

The seller said that he was in a rush when he made the transfer, and for some reason he thought that the total was 4k. At least that's what he said...

However, I do believe that he will make the transfer. He's only a couple of hundred from making all of this go away...

The way some of these new watch companies are managed I can imagine these guys have their hands in all kinds of things and can be short on cash at times and they play it like that.

I agree, I would never buy a watch from Diamond & Jewelery Gallery in Texas. I wouldn't be comfortable doing business with them.

Seems like this place tried to scam u bc they thought u being out of US they could.

Nobody buy from these people. If they did it to OP they’ve done it to others

What’s reputable seller does have the ability to refund 4.7k? Ridiculous.

one year and you only got your 100% refund... certainly you should have been compensated for more... I, personally, would still rate them on google, yelp and bbb for a negative rating.

Yeah, well… I don't have the spark to continue dealing with this person. I'm just glad I got the Money after all this time…

And because of the Swedish Crown being so low, I actually made a profit of approx. $650 just by waiting

Glad you finally got your money back. Another lesson to be very careful about wiring money to someone you don't know.

Edwin:

It has been awhile since you have had dealings with the shop in San Antonio,
I am going to assist. I know a Texas Ranger LT in the San Antonio area.
He usually will assist since we both have been in state and Federal law enforcement.
We will see what happens. Due diligence....its getting to the point where personal
face-to-face exchanges are safest.......PM shortly.

Go to a solicitor/lawyer. Have him draft up a "Demand Letter", stating the facts of your case and requesting your refund immediately.

Send copies (cc's) of this Demand Letter to the Better Business Bureau in the sellers town, Chrono24 offices, sellers local police department, city mayor, and anybody else that can put pressure on the seller.
