Anyone else here wear Apple Watch instead of their Rolex?

Got my first Rolex about a month ago, but have been wearing my Apple Watch daily instead...mostly bc I work for a tech company with casual wear in the office and I think my Bluesy is too flashy for my particular office etc

Anyone else in a similar boat? I try to wear my Bluesy on wkends tho

No. I have a great dislike of smart watches.

Apart from fitness activities, I don't see the point if I have a phone. Just an extra thing to charge up and cause hassle.

I like the simplicity of a mechanical watch. It doesn't ask me to perform updates all the time and run out of battery.

Just my take - and I am sure if you are young and work in IT it is expected.

Yes similar boat, but why worry about it. People are as likely to not know what it is as be offended by how fancy it is. My Apple Watch is awesome for exercising and grilling food, but I personally love wearing my Rolex the rest of the time.

Wear your Rolex as much as you want and make no apologies for it.

I will just add to my above post and fitness.
My fitness activities are primarily boxing coach related (Inc sparring) to which any watch is useless.

Agree. To me this is the biggest hurdle. If they had a very long lasting battery, maybe... (but just maybe). ;-)

Mostly the Rolex collection. I bought an Apple watch 4 a few months ago and it has been worn 3-4 days max. Great for the gym but big love is the Rolex line. Mechanical watch is so real.

I was poking through a WATCHTIME issue from this year looking for something else and stumbled into an article with a respected watch community figure wearing both an Apple Watch as well as his Rolex. Rock em both !! He went on to say that his Rolex is an amazing watch, but his apple is a very convenient way to check text and emails on the fly. Which, I’m cool with the double watch thing, as long as it’s different wrists...haha

Also, I should note, I can’t remember if he was wearing a Rolex or it may have been a Patek.

You’d be surprised how little your flashy watch is noticed. I don’t wear a smart watch for the reasons already listed. I also think if you’ve spent thousands of pounds on it, to me it doesn’t make sense to keep such an impressive watch in a drawer.

This and everytime an email, text or other notification comes in your phone goes off plus your wrist gets "flicked". All it does for me is raise my blood pressure.

I am not the archetype of the executive who is answering several calls at once because it is or feels very important.

When I leave my office I do not want anyone to bother me, except my family, and I'm always with them so sometimes I turn off the phone and enjoy my mechanical watch and life.

I just can't see buying a nice watch, but only being able to use it on the weekends.

I tried twice

With the first and third gen Apple Watch. While I appreciated using it for my daily swims, it occured to me one day that I didn't need to calculate my workouts anymore.

There is just something about a mechanical watch that I keep going back to.

I think ,for many men, a watch is an expression of who they are, what they value, and their perceived status. I think the vast majority of people are oblivious to watches. They see a colorful watch and they assume it came from Costco or from a TV ad.

But, if you are sensing a Rolex would be out of place at your job, I would no wear one.

I wear my Apple Watch every day to the gym, but then switch to my Rolex for work.

I had the same concern you do about appropriateness in the office and other people noticing. My paranoia went away after about 2 weeks of wearing it and realizing the general public is not likely to notice, and those who do may very well be watch people themselves.

I’d suggest ripping off the bandaid and wearing the Rolex. It’s a thing of beauty, it will keep you company at work. Good luck!

Considering the forums is called "THE ROLEX FORUM" and not "THE APPLE FORUM: WE'RE COOL KIDS REALLY"

Do you really need to ask this question?
What do you expect the user base to say here?

I was gifted and Apple Watch and gave it a try when my only Rolex at the time was in for service. Promptly sold it and bought another Rolex.

Love my Apple Watch. I love that I can use it alone without my iPhone if I want to go light. Leave the bulky phone at home but still have a communication device.

Wearing my Rolex reminds me of how fortunate I am not to have to wear an Apple watch.

Nope. I’ll avoid wearing one of those wrist computers for as long as possible. My smart phone already stresses me out enough buzzing every few minutes with alerts. I can’t fathom never being able to detach from technology and being constantly linked in.

Got an apple watch about 2 years ago. I used it for about 3 months and then moved to sit on my desk for over a year. Last time I tired to use it a software upgrade was needed and it looked it is going to take some time. The watch went back to sit nicely on my desk again.
I love mechanical watches, they look great and less daily maintenance.

After I bought my Apple Watch I thought the Rolex collection was in grave danger. It offered a lot of easy connectivity and you have a ton of strap options. Well fast forward a year and I just don’t wear it anymore. Only Rolex. As others have mentioned the phone does what the watch does. Now the universe is aligned.
