Thank you, this is the kind of consideration I am weighing up.

I think I'm going to pull the trigger on it. All the reviews I've read have been positive so far...

I've posted something previously of a similar effect, but the Tudor GMT is such a home run IMO. The big crown, the non-cyclops crystal, the snowflake hands..

Makes this 16710 owner go daaaaymn

To answer your question, many many MANY members on this forum own both Rolex and Tudor models. I own a Tudor in addition to my two Rolexes and love it. You will find that Tudor is a little less stuffy, less pretentious in certain situations. Tudor has a more fun playful attitude vs Rolex. You will find that certain occasions you will prefer your Tudor.

I wear mine for extra-casual situations where I think my SD43 might be a little over the top and it has also become my go-to travel watch.

I'm on the list for a Tudor Pepsi (currently own a black bay). I think it's an amazing watch and has incredible bang-for-the-buck at its price point. Only issue with it is if you have very small wrists, it could be too much for you.

Great post. The Pepsi is a real beauty. Let me know if you have trouble finding one.

The Tudor was better known as the watch to get if you can't afford a Rolex....rather than a poor man's Rolex

Personally I love Tudor I have a couple.I love the smiling face eta black bay in red..however I can't get away with the Tudor GMT it's just too thick..it's as thick as it is wide

If I could afford the Rolex I would get that so I must be a poorman...shame looks like I am stuck with Tudor

Love my Tudor GMT, had a few comments from random Rolex strangers in bars and on trains etc.

LOL @ poor man's Rolex.... That's a first class problem.

Anyway, is it there issue with the date wheeling not rotating properly?
I personally like the watch and Tudor as a brand but once I read about the date issue I stayed away.

I don't think there is any shame in that and every single Rolex owner deep down will feel the same regardless of whether they admit it or not. Very very few owners are professional divers, or pilots or have jobs that require the superlative 'professionalism' that the Rolex sports range offers. Simply put in this day and age they are jewelry.

My question about the Tudor comes from a place where I know nothing about the brand or the watch and wanted better informed peoples' opinions on its merits and how I would feel having it alongside superb Rolex models.
Nice collection
I think you should get a gold Daytona or Yachtmaster
You already have a gmt anyways

I don't think you'd be in the wrong for doing so. The Tudor is very handsome, and that snowflake hour hand is a stunner IMHO. Just buy what you like! If you really feel like you'll be worrying that it's not Rolex, then take that feeling seriously and consider that when you're ready to purchase.

Likewise. I currently own four Rolex watches and I’m finding the Tudor is garnering the majority of my wrist time. I’m much less likely to buy the Rolex GMT even at list price (at least at the moment). I love the proportions, the retro look and (obviously) the price!

Thoughts on Tudor Pepsi??

I’m wearing my Tudor gmt more than any of my Rolex too at the moment. It just seems to be the one I gravitate to on a morning

I owned both. Loved the Tudor GMT colours - hard to beat.

That being said, the BB GMT thickness always kinda bugged me, so I sold it on. Its a beautiful watch - don't let me sway you.

I'm happy wearing my BLRO and its more reasonable thickness.

The Tudor GMT is on my radar for my next watch - both are great watches.

I think it's the smaller bezel/larger dial that works for me. Also much prefer the 41mm diameter. Only area I prefer the Rolex GMT is the thinner case size.
I finally get that call from my AD that the BLNR has arrived, went the same day to pick it up of course but then the unexpected happened. I saw the Tudor GMT for the first time, put it on my wrist next to the BLNR and told the salesman that I'm getting the tudor instead. Just like that, The design of the Tudor on that Leather strap was way too appealing to me, a beautiful rather unique combination that can't be obtained from Rolex. i bought the NATO strap and will get the stainless strap t complete the set. Now my watch is back to Switzerland for the date issue but still, I don't regret getting this watch at all. From Rolex I may now be interested in a submariner or a sea dweller.

Yes have both and can say the Tudor is most definitly NOT the poor man's Rolex. Although, if you only get the Tudor then you'll always wonder. So the only logical solution is to get both!

It's just got a more vintage vibe. And some of us prefer it over the Rolex

A very beautiful watch, but too thick for my taste. I also prefer ceramic over aluminum for the bezel.

I'd go for the tudor. You can always add the blro later.

As for Tudor I'm not an apologist. I like my two tudor but also have a rolex. If I had to chose only 1 watch it would be a rolex but tudor really are great.

Most people who knock tudor havent owned a modern one with the new in house movement. The in house tudor movement is superior to most in house rolex that arent 72 hour pr. They are minus 2 plus 4. Just a lot of ignorant posters imo.

I like both the BB gmt and BLRO. But the grey dealer in my area are selling the BLRO almost doubled the AD price which you can buy 4 BB gmt.

I held one today, I have to say it's a really nice reference. Well worth the price. One thing I didn't like in photographs was the rivet bracelet but in real life they weren't that noticeable.

However the new BB58 is the better reference out of the two. The design and the size are perfect for a tool watch. If you haven't seen one in person, try too as its the one to get.

The Tudor GMT is a terrific watch, but stay true to yourself. It doesn't sound like this one's for you, and that is alright. Go with your gut.

This for me also. It’s a great watch but it’s also a big beast. I’m back to my 16710.

I was also looking at the Tudor GMT, but was also put off by the thickness (the same problem, for me, that most of the BB range suffers from) so I'm leaning towards the BB 58.

Wow! Some of the comments are totally unnecessary.
He asked for an opinion between the 2 watches and some advice on the Tudor brand.

Can't say I'm a fan, I'd much rather have the BB58.

I know it is possible. Some of our members here have put a cyclops on their Tudors. I asked my AD if they would put one on my new GMT and they would not.

I would sure like a cyclops. My old eyes make it difficult to see the date.
