I have a 16628 yachtmaster from 1998. I love the heft. I would buy it and not look back.

If you are worried about scratches why not a DD40? You won't see the scratches on the President as bad as on an Oyster + the "light play" of the President is fantastic (at least for WG... haven't worn a YG yet).

Instead of trading the TT plus cash why not just buy a 118238 and keep the TT.

You won’t regret it but why the hesitation? Some like TT but for me and many here, two tone weakens the look.

The only way you will regret the Solid Gold Sub is...
. . . . . Not buying it!

I used to own a TT blue Sub and upgraded to a WG Sub a number of years ago. Absolutely no regrets! I'm not a big fan of yellow gold, and I like the way the WG Sub flies under the radar. I also like the heft of it on the wrist.

If I was in the YG market, I'd go with the GMT rather than the Sub. Similar watches. Solid gold seems like a fine upgrade for a travel watch, but I feel like the Sub is trying too hard in YG given its intended purpose. That, and why not get the extra functionality?

I have a similar one for sports cars - American cars with engine options with less than 8 cylinders aren’t real sports cars. Translation: Corvette and Viper are the only choices if you’re buying American. |

If you want it, just get it man. I wore the 718 full YG GMT2 for so many years without a problem at all.
Just bear in the mind that a full gold Sub is gonna weigh almost 300 grams. |

there is NOTHING to regret upgrading to a full YG Sub. That is a killer watch and the grail of many.
100% go for it. |

I have had my 116619 around a month now, its my first PM watch and the only negative I have to table is its soft so its very easy to scratch.
Dont get me wrong, I love it to bits but boy oh boy it does scratch easy. |

get the solid gold blue dial sub - you will love it. the blue dial pops. Personally, I went a 16628 YM with a blue dial. for me, it was just a difference in the bezel and I preferred the YM.

Good call. I’d wait it out since you are happy with what you’ve got. It will still be around if you decide to get one. With that kind of budget you have several other options. Take time to explore everything that is available- it’s a fun thing to do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Your only regret would be not getting the gold sub sooner.

I have had two 116613 diamond version now the 116618 diamond blue sub. I always wanted the all gold but I like wearing the 116613 better. Actually get more compliments with the 116613. Now the cost factor, since the 116618 is $25k i insured it for $395 a year just in case.
So, that's my take on it. You will never know until you get one for yourself. |

I believe that I'm much older than most of you folks on this forum, but for me there is no substitute for yellow gold. I love the look and the heft. SS just doesn't do it for me. Did you ever hear of someone hoarding SS? Did you ever hear of a bank opening an abandoned safe deposit box and finding bars of stainless steel? No, me neither. LOL
