Icon20 Incoming BLNR

Hi all 👋

Long time lurker only a couple of post.

So last night around 5pm I’m outside cooking a BBQ and get a call from the local Rolex Boutique letting me know that they have just received my BLNR and when did I want to pick it up! I was in absolute shock! Firstly because I’ve enquired on this piece at the start of the year with all 3 boutiques and authorised dealers and only to be basically laughed at and told they were impossible to get and there was a 3+ year wait.

I went into this Rolex Boutique only back in August wearing my subC just browsing and having a chat with the staff and trying on a couple datejusts and told them I really want a Batman, they obviously told me they’re very hard to get and only go to there previous customers (me not a previous customer). Anyway from August until yesterday I’ve made several visits there just browsing the stock and building rapport with them.

Cut the long story short, I consider myself very lucky getting the call at 5pm, I was there at 7:30pm collecting the watch. Over the moon with the watch, when I got home I realised they mangled a couple screw heads, but hey I can’t complain and I’m sure it will get more scars haha

Will upload photos when I get on my laptop, phone is saying size to big.

Congratulations.

I would return to the AD and request they order several screws to replace the mangled ones. You've paid too much to accept that. This is why I prefer to size my watches myself.

Thanks everyone.

To be honest I thought being a Rolex Boutique they would have a better tool and experience than me using my 1.6mm Bergeon screw driver, looks like they proved me wrong lol

I will be passing by that complex so I will ask them if they’ve got some screws handy (only problem is one of the ones they damaged is on the 6 o’clock side that’s a short screw next to the clasp, not sure why the rookie “technician” even tampered with that one as it’s got nothing to do with removing a link)

The problem these days with these sought after models is the dealer making you feel privileged to be purchasing it and we quite quickly get sucked into that forgetting we’re the customer who just spent $11,300AUD haha anyway I’m very OCD but I’m not letting this screw affect me lol I just don’t want to upset them and jeopardise potentially landing a SS Daytona? “ oh that’s the asshole that was complaining about the screws”

Awesome! Congrats!

If possible, I would suggest you to bring the watch to RSC and ask them to replace it. I believe the staff of Rolex AD are all professional. Sometimes the problem may be caused by Rolex as too many glue was applied. I bought four watches from an AD only only one watch encountered the similar problem. From that onward, I bring the watch to RSC to adjust the bracelet. (Singapore is a small place only 20 mins transportation can reach RSC from my home.)
