Which is more subtle? Everose or white gold

I know this question sounds silly, because before I tried them on, I would have bet white gold (looking like steel) would be much more subtle than Everose.
After trying both forms of PM (Day Date models) with the presidential bracelet, I’m not so sure. My skin is darker tone, and it seems that Everose is a bit more under the radar. Could also be that white gold just sparkles in that bracelet.

Am I the only one, or others have observed the same? How’s Everose under more typical lighting situations...outside of AD’s intense spot lights? I actually prefer to not catch as much attention...

Nothing under the radar of subtle about an all rose gold watch. If you want such white gold is the only answer.

Interesting. Maybe it was my shirt sleeves that day, or maybe the lighting. I should have taken some pics.

For me there was never a question. I think Everose is so much warmer and it changes color depending upon the lighting. It looks best outside at around twilight. In direct light it looks almost yellow.

There is no such thing as an "under the radar" presidential bracelet. Especially when you factor in the fluted bezel. If there's any light at all, the bracelet/bezel combination will catch it and flash like a torch. Even WG is going to be eye catching. I'm always amused when people use the word "stealth" when referring to it.

But...between the RG and WG, I would say that WG is a little more subtle. If you take into account different dial combinations, though, that gap can shrink or widen, IMO.

I too have tan skin and have to say that the color of WG is much more subtle than RG if what you're trying to do is fly under the radar.

Exactly Larry. You are spot on as usual. There is absolutely nothing "under the radar"...I hate that term...about a Rolex DAY DATE!!!!!

I get what you’re saying about darker skin tone with the white gold contrast, but rose/yellow gold will always stand out more than WG IMO.

Well, most understood my question. But for those who focused on my use of “under the radar” should know that I used it to describe the piece in relative terms. For example, that same everose Day Date is more “under the radar” than a yellow gold AP Offshore. Which isn’t to say that either are “under the radar” in absolute terms.

Which would be more subtle, a SS Daytona or a Rainbow Daytona? Keep in mind that my skin sparkles a bit, especially with moisturizer.

How is this even a question?

WG is the most subtle and 99% of ppl will think its Steel.

RG is blingy as hell. Not as blingy as my YG but plenty shiny and gets alot of attention.

Well this made me chuckle.
I swear the WG reflected more light at the AD’s.
There’s only one way to find out for sure.

Listen do you want to know the truth? Whether you’re wearing steel, white gold and platinum the majority of people will assume you’re wearing steel. The majority aren’t watch enthusiasts that can recognize every single watch. A Day-Date is never under the radar because of the President bracelet. The way the PCLs look darker and the brushed outer links shine is always going to attract attention even in WG or Platinum.

Rose gold is not under the radar but personally I think if you’re paying for a gold watch it should be yellow or rose gold. Otherwise what is the point? The main reason people buy a PM watch is because they show status. Many will disagree with me but that’s the truth at the end of the day. Yes, the weight is nice, the feel is nice and the luster is nice but it’s all about status.

Some are comfortable wearing yellow and rose gold and others aren’t which is why they go for gold or platinum. They may not want to show off wealth or maybe concerned about being robbed on the street or attracting negative attention.

If I were you I would pick the exact watch you want regardless of the color or what others think. It will be you that actually wears it.

I would choose DD40 228235 olive with romans, sun dust stripes or chocolate lime sticks. While the romans are very nice (3D effect), having lume is always a plus in my opinion.

Also if you would consider a pre-owned watch I would look for a mint condition 228206 in the low 40s. The DD40 in platinum is just spectacular. There are several guys on here that own one. Whether the glacier dial or any other color, there are not many watches that look as stunning in person. Platinum also holds up better than gold. No material is lost when polishing due to Pt’s properties.

Def rose gold. Add some diamonds and you may not even notice it on the wrist!
