Can you use a Rolex as a brake when sliding down stairs...?
Why yes, yes you can. But I don't recommend it.
Slid down a bunch of wet deck steps when on vacation this week...SD got the left rail and my arm the other ... bruised arm already healing, but I suspect I'll need assistance with the clasp some day |

Bummer I think those green scotch bright pads would brush that back close to original.

At least you're okay Bill. Looks like the rail took the brunt of the 'damage'.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone, I did manage to avoid disaster by catching the rails like far apart parallel bars...but I am no gymnast!

Yeah...fortunately I just started my first drink but not enough to blame it on Actually it was my dog I can blame...she was soaking from a swim in the lake and really watered down the stairs with her back and forth |

Good to hear you are OK. Few months back, my wife slipped on IKEA wooden stairs. I almost got a heart attack seeing her fall, stopped her from rolling even further... She got up, first checked her watch, watch looked OK, no scratch. I told her to never ever worry about any watch... She is WIS now I guess...We laugh about it now (I am holding her arm whenever walking down the stairs...).

Sounds like a rough fall, I think you could get those scratches out though so don't worry too much about them. It sounds like the clasp stayed closed though so that's a win! haha

DSOTM would work well for that. There's a reason they use ceramic for performance car brakes. :)

Well, James Bond used his for "knuckle-dusters" in On Her Majesty's Secret Service, so yeah, a Rolex will work as a braking system.

Ceramic brakes stop better than steel ones.
Try the bezel side next time? |

2 minutes with a green scotch brite pad will have that clasp looking great again.
