Good day all.

Well I said I wouldn't be buying another watch this year but I've kind of been Jonesing for this one for a while ...

I'm curious what the collective here think of it? I already have a 690 which has the same movement (essentially). Would this be redundant or does the Luminor wear significant different than theb1940 Radiomir?

My collection is: Dblue, Sd43 and the aforementioned 690.

It's only available on the gray market and selling at quite a premium to original list.

A picture (not mine) for discussion. Panos if you're there .... please chime in

Thoughts??

Calling for Panos is like asking to be enabled! ;-)

The watch is a STUNNER....

But, getting it means really getting two watches, as you'll need a classic black to go with your blue and grey.

This is a seriously beautiful PAM. Much like the 690, the pictures do not do it justice. So if you like it in the pics, you will love it for real. Limited production (less than 200) and beautiful dial greatly points towards value stabilisation. Definitely one of my all-time favourite PAMs!

Is it Plexi or Sapphire? If it's Plexi, that just one more reason to pounce!

I assume it’s a sapphire crystal

It sure looks stunning in pictures. As far as I know it was only available from the Firenze boutique and produced 99 pieces total

Florence is a special place to me and my wife, so it only adds to its desirability for me

Pam605

On the contrary, the 605 has 2 Editions. So far and to the best of my knowledge, 605 comes in only “R” and “S” series.

R series is Plexiglass whereas the S series comes in sapphire crystal. Other than this detail, the rest are the same. P.3000 movement, sandwich dial and etc. They produced 99 pieces per series, so, there are only 198 pieces in the whole wide world at the moment.

I personally know 3 guys who has the 605. I had lunch with one of them just a few days ago. Here, take a look at this picture. We have a fiddy, a 605 and me wearing the 422.

By the way. This guy wearing the 605 has a 690 too.

Original listing from PANERAI 2-3 years ago.

Thanks for this info. I didn’t realize there were two releases.

So the review I watched on govberg talked about it being a single release of 99 pieces and only sold at the Firenze boutique ... is that incorrect.?

Perhaps I’ll hang tight to see if I can source one from the boutique then

Come on now, you know better than to believe what you read on a magazine, right? Anyway, they are not totally wrong or misleading. It is a fact they only sell it from the boutique in Florence, however, I believe you can still get it if you they have balance stock and you know a sales person there who will arrange for you.

They usually send the watch via FedEx. This happened when a guy I know was allotted a Bronzo 671 last year. The watch was sent to HKG as HKG do not imposed any import taxes.

Sounds like you are visiting Florence too? Care to share when? We could meet there for an espresso if our timing is the same.

Thank you for this

I may inquire tomorrow at the boutique then. I believe I have the card of the sales person who I bought a strap from.

I was just at the boutique in September while we were honeymooning. I’ve been to Florence many times, I love it there

I’m not sure when we will be back but we are talking about next Sept I’d definitely meet up

We used to have direct flights to Florence back in the day.

Now it’s Milan or Rome.

Thanks for the information. I’m going to call the boutique tomorrow

Holy crap

Three beauties right there my friend What’s your take on the 605? Worth paying the gray market premium or better to contact the boutique?

The very same watch (from the above pic) was available here for sale in an unbelievably low price and sold before 4 days. I wish I knew earlier that you are interested my friend.

https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=579525

Mine is a R series with sapphire crystal and must be one of the last if not the last (from the 99 and 99 pieces) that sold from the Panerai boutique in Florence.

I have noticed that the grey market prices for the 605 (in general) are around the retail price. The price I paid in boutique was 8.900 €. I have seen prices in the range of 9.500 to 10.000 €. The above at 9.555 USD or 7.685 € was such a bargain !

Have your antennas on and patience will finally get you there.

Pics don't make justice on his dial but is something you know cause you own the stunner 690.

Always fun to hunt for one. I certainly hope you get it! You’ll have two very uncommon PAMs which makes for a great start for your Panerai collection. You’ll then need black and white dial references to round out the colors. Lol

So a quick update....

I spoke to the boutique in Firenze just now, and they in fact have 3 in inventory but of course they are all spoken for.

I thought that was interesting since this is a limited production run that's been out for quite a while.

Regardless, they've put me on the wait list should anyone decide to cancel. I asked her how long that list is and she stated that I was #1.

We shall see. Panos, you're killing me

WOW.....3 in the inventory !!!!

The distribution in panerai must be wayyyyyyy to slow.

Imagine that the 605 was produced in 2 series from 99 pieces each, before panerai decide to discontinued it.

Q and R series, 2014 and 2015, respectively.

Now it is 2018 and from 198 watches there are 3 (at least known after your call) available despite the big demand of the specific reference !

The fact that you are #1 in the list proves the truth of the above. Because no one would think that the watch is anymore available from the boutique and everything would have been sold.

But the reality is different
And i hope to get lucky my friend and source it straight from the boutique BNIB and in retail

Funny thing is that the boutique is sending/shipping the watches to all continents except Europe. If you live in Europe, you must travel to Florence to receive the watch in person !

Waiting for the incoming thread

Yes it's interesting to hear this. If have assumed they were hone along long time ago.

It makes me wonder if there are other similar boutique references out there unsold.

I know that our local boutique here in Toronto has never even seen a Pam 690 and were quite interested to handle mine whenever I pay them a visit. As far as they know they are sold out... claiming they can't even order from the factory, yet it is still shown on their website.

Cross your fingers for me brother
