Hi Fabio,

I’m also a pilot and own both the models you mentioned. I rotate them every other flight I operate. I would like to think that I’m not stupid. GO FOR IT!

Unless you go PM or vintage, I can't see a reason to have another GMT in the rotation.

If you want the 24 hour hand - ExpII.

The question is indeed very subjective to answer and it really doesn't have a right or wrong way to go, however, I'm very interested knowing the general opinion !

Ok, I am a Pilot and I already own my beloved BLNR since 2014. How idiotic could be of me if I purchased a GMT II LN as well ? Having the other half of the bezel in black, a green "GMT II" on the dial and a green GMT hand would be so terribly non sense for someone who already own a BLNR but in a certain way could not be considered entirely a Rolex Collector ? I'm afraid that soon this model will be discontinued !

I just don't know... Both watches are in theory so much the same but I don't know why when I eventually see someone wearing a LN GMT, at the same time it looks so different than the BLNR. Is this just me ? Psychological effect or attempt to justify a possible acquisition ? In general, how do you guys differ one from another ?

PS - I already own the Sub LVc as well !

I'm already in love with the Navitimer 01 (I posted about it yesterday, along with the SS Pepsi "Drama") but it's not easy to keep far from the Rolex brand !
I have both and love both. I love GMTs. My collection of them is building. Some days I feel black, some days I feel black and blue. If you really like GMTs, go for it. As others have mentioned, if you like the TT look, go for the 116713 for a bit more variety.

I would wait a bit longer for Rolex to release the LN with the new movement, it's only a matter of time

It's really your personal preference. Lots of people on here have many iterations of a particular model. I would probably first look at a new watch to add that appeals to a different taste before adding the LN, but if the GMT is a favourite/most useful complication then go for it!

Go nuts and add a super jubilee to the BLNR. Boom, instant diversity.

You're welcome.

I actually prefer the LN over the BLNR. Very versatile watch and goes well with all occasions. If you love it, you should get it. It's alright to own two different watch from the same brand/model.

Add a pic for good measure.

Thank you all for the opinions and advices !

I believe I should've been a bit more specific regarding my plans and posted everything in one thread.

The "Saga" is to choose between the GMT LN, go for a Navitimer 01 43mm Pan-American Bronze Limited Edition or wait God knows when for the new GMT II SS Pepsi !

Both GMT II LN and Navitimer 01 are virtually the same price BNIB (Resale value doesn't matter to me). Pepsi naturally, will be a bit more expensive.

How can you spot the pilot at a party? Give up? Don’t worry, he’ll tell you.

That is a joke and I’m also a pilot.

This. Add a jubilee bracelet to one of them and you’ll all set.

As someone who owns numerous Subs and GMT's, I really see nothing wrong with it. Out of curiosity, have you ever considered a 16710?

They are too similar for me to justify owning both but my opinion doesn't matter. Do what you want.

Would it be possible to pick a 116713? That would make a cool combo.

Not a terrible fan of TT either (Except for this new Root Beer although it's slightly above the price I want to pay right now).

The consideration is seriously based on the 3 models I've mentioned in the other thread !

SS Pepsi (With the availability issue)

LN (Too similar to my BLNR)

Navitimer 01 43mm Panamerican Bronze Limited Edition (It's wonderful but a non Rolex watch however, not a big deal though since I pretty much Respect Breitling as a brand)

From a wis standpoint, we can justify almost anything. There are many members here who have themed collections - divers, gmts, daytonas, etc., so it "makes sense" for them to own every single variant of a certain watch.

Having said that, if you don't plan on amassing an enormous collection, i would feel the ln gmt and the blnr are redundant. Steven's suggestion of the skyd is a good alternative. A precious metal gmt could also be a good way to go, if funds allow.

If its calling you go for it! I would be more concerned about it looking too much like your Sub than your BLNR.

No problem with owing two watches with the same function and slightly different appearances. You also might consider getting a 5 digit GMTII with interchangeable bezel inserts!!!

I actually thought of getting the LN and BLNR a few weeks back because I love how GMT's look and wear. I honestly don't see anything wrong with doing so, especially because the LN looks badass. As someone mentioned, the TT GMT isn't a bad idea either, and will look totally different than the BLNR.

I think they’re just too similar, but I can’t blame you if you want it and go ahead and buy it. I don’t buy watches that are that similar, but I do collect one particular type of firearm and so many of them look identical to the casual viewer.

It makes sense to me to have both and the Pepsi’s. I don’t have an LN, but I have at least 4 Rolex GMT’s.

I would consider the Sky-Dweller if it sings to you. I got one and I miss it when I rotate with my Daytona. It’s that good. But I also want to get an Explorer 1 now so take my advice with a bit of skepticism too.
