I have a DJII Fluted Silver Stick Dial.. I think the Datejust fills my need in the "dressy" category.

Lately I've seen rhodium diamond dials on this watch and think it looks great.

I have an interesting relationship w my silver stick dial. Sometimes I love it and sometimes I get confused by the way it changes shades.

So I've been considering changing the dial for a while now. I have a Jewler who will do it but I don't know which dial to choose.

The rhodium really catches my eye, but leaves me questioning-

Do men really wear diamonds?

Sure, why not? Just make sure the dial is OEM and appropriate to the model.

Sure, lots of men wear diamonds. Personally, diamonds on the bezel is a no-no but diamond hour markers, especially on the dj/djii, are more subtle and add a touch of classiness.

I'm not for any kind of bling in men's watches, and diamonds, in the bezel or on the dial, are bling. Just my opinion.

Having re-read your post, it seems that it the rhodium that catches your eye; just how important are the diamonds? Double check,because Rolex does not permitmcerain dials to be put into watches after original shipment. For you info, I have a rhodium dial on my DJ, and I could not be happier. See...?

I personally don't find diamonds manly in any context. That depends on your definition of manly though. Everyone's opinion of the male archetype is different. For me, it's Steve McQueen, Abraham Lincoln, Dan Gable, Ernest Hemingway, Bill Halsey, Paul Newman, John Irving. I just don't see those guys wearing diamonds.

When someone says "manly," a diamond adorned Rolex isn't the first image that's conjured in my mind. Having said that, nothing wrong with it if that's what appeals to you.

I never looked at it in terms of masculinity. A diamond dial is a dial with diamonds on it, it's not gender specific. It's definitely not a casual jeans and t-shirt watch, but it'd be awesome paired with dress slacks and collared shirt or a business suit look.

I think it depends on who's wearing it, some carry a diamond dialed watch really well whereas is a fail on others:)

Not into diamonds for myself but I can appreciate a decked out watch on a man.
It's like I prefer my wife with little to know makeup but a blonde done to the nines certainly won't offend me:)

Personally, I don't care for diamonds on watches...whether they're worn by men or women. Accents on a watch should be subtle and enhance the watch. The watch should not enhance the accents. I feel diamonds tend to overshadow the watch. On a man's watch, this can become even more obvious, as they are generally larger watches, and so it's more evident.

On a very small woman's watch, it's harder to see and such a watch is really pure jewelry to begin with.

For that matter, i'm not big on precious metal watches...for much the same reason.

But, we all have our own taste and much remain true to that.

Not my taste, but looks good. Go for it if you're wanting a change.
You'll still have the original dial and can switch back if you get tired of it.

All the above. Personally I have a few diamond items & I've had nothing but complements about them if anyone has thought they were 'girly' in anyway I've yet to hear those comments said to my face.

Couldn't agree more! I personally like diamond markers on Rolex watches and if you like that look as well then, by all means, go for it and be happy!
