Agree. I’ve only had it for less than two days, but I can see where this will be the perfect daily driver. I’ll eventually put a black Rubber B or Everest strap on it to completely change the look to even more casual of a watch. I love the white dial!

Hey guys. I’m not trying to be an imposter as I do not currently own a Daytona, but would like to try one. Just curious how many of you bit the bullet, and paid the grays versus those of you who added your name to a list and got the coveted call from an AD?

I have a fairly good relationship with my AD. (Like he hits me up when he has spare season baseball tickets, kind of thing)
I put my name down about 6 months ago, and I’m in mid size city.
I’m hoping to hear something within a year maybe 2.

Have any of you added your name to ‘’the list’’ recently and had reasonable turn around?

I should mention I’m not buying a ton of gold from him just the occasional watches. I did let them know my wife may be wanting a PM watch for her B-day.

Cheers.

^ In the minority here, but I walked into an AD blind and found one a few months ago. I would not have paid over retail for it, but love the watch and very happy to have literally stumbled upon it.

Finally, joining the club of Daytona C. I just picked it up this morning from my ‘local’ Rolex boutique store (300kms away).

Picked mine up from the AD this past Saturday. Love everything about it.

Question though, is the rehaut and engraving on the clasp lighter on your Daytona than your other Rolexs? Mine looks a bit lighter/not as deep of an engraving.

Thoughts on production volumes between white & black?

Tim @ Watchbox said he heard they were making 3x more whites than blacks. Thoughts?

3x would be hard to believe. Two ADs I know have received them in equal amounts and they seem to be available in equal amounts out in the wild. I would agree that black is probably made in lower numbers but, if true, the actual difference is unknown if a difference even exists.

White is more popular by far and gray/used dealers sit on black longer. It's certainly possible that Watchbox wants badly for black to seem rare and therefore create hype to move stock. Despite Govberg being an AD, I highly doubt they know anything about production numbers outside of a guess. It falls under another "my AD said" speculation.

+1 Agree with you 100%

I felt guilty posting it, but since he knows much more than me, figured it was worth sharing.

Tim is an enthusiast, no doubt there. But, I can't see him or Govberg knowing anything in detail about production numbers. Rolex simply doesn't share those details.

No need to feel guilty. It's a question worth asking.

Hi guys I'm new here this is my first post. I have been on two waiting list's and over 2 yrs for 116500LN white, should I continue to wait or pay the price tag for resale?
Do you think it will hold the 18k + resale value?

Got my 116500LN this week. Love it. Ended up letting my 116520 black dial and my GMT TT black 16713 go, plus a little cash to get into this one. Repeat, love it.

Wow that’s a big price to pay, but a great watch.
