One lucky find, FP J, Chrono Bleu. Long post.

So here I was wandering in Paris when I found the FP Journe Boutique

Having heard of the watches and their maker, I said to myself why not having a look and get the feeling of the watches. So I got inside, and you immediately feel the difference with the standard luxurious watch shop. You get in a showroom where many watches are on display

Then you get in the saloon

So I tried several watches and the sales manager was really helping explaining the technicalities of each watch, after many tries like
The Centigraphe

Or the Chronomètre Optimum

Then I asked if they had the Chronomètre Bleu which I have never seen but heard of the special blue dial, and they said « yes, we do », the man went and came back with one.

The guy said it just arrived and they usually have a few months of waiting list but this one was available now, for me if I wanted it. This was unexpected as I was planning to have a 15202.
I asked if I could book it for 15 days, the Boutique manager said gracefully « yes ».

I bit surprised I left the shop as I didn’t want to buy a watch with my heart only, so I asked you folks on the TRF your thoughts on the FPJ v/s the 15202 (you can see the few weeks old post with your valuable comments). I didn’t need too much to be convinced. I confirmed the buy and today came back to Paris and....

The blue dial reflects light in an amazing way, not easy to catch with the phone camera but here we go, dark blue:

Mirror like, light blue:

This one I did not know, floating numbers with the number showed in white inside the dial

And the shadow of the floating numbers inside the dial

Really nice watch
Thank you guys for helping me making the right choice.

Right place at the right time, ready to buy, that’s the way to do it. Huge congratulations! I was there a few weeks ago, great staff.

Congrats! It'd be interesting to see what FPJ does in response to the sudden surge in demand for FPJ CB. There's only one for sale Chrono24 for 28.9K currently; that's tremendous for a non Rolex (for a non discontinued watch).

A beauty! Congrats!
Didn’t know about the floating numbers either!

Wow, congratulations! That's a very lucky find considering the waitlists around the world have ballooned recently (Geneva was a 4 month wait when I ordered in November, but that has now apparently ballooned to 18 months).

Agreed! I had to make the choice between my CB and 15202 to make way for my next incoming, and I stuck with the CB. Shininess of it being new aside, I'm pretty sure it was the right choice.

Congratulations on the CB. I, too, recently got mine and, you are correct, very hard to take a picture to show off the dial. Best of luck with yours!

Congratulations! You are a lucky person to have been able to walk in to a boutique and get one just like that considering there are waiting lists.

I have been on the list in Miami since January. There are over 100 people on the list between the 3 US boutiques, and Geneva told me 1 1/2 years wait at their boutique.

I continue to not understand this. If the Paris boutique had a "waiting list" than why wasn't that watch allocated to the next person on the list rather than just some guy that happened to walk into the store that day (no offense to OP and well done to get it!).

Makes you wonder what is going on with these lists...

I don’t know whether or not the Paris boutique had a waiting list.
All I know is that all three US boutiques have long waiting lists and so does the Geneva boutique. I spoke with my AD today and he doesn’t really know the situation other than at the US boutiques. He too couldn’t comprehend how someone could walk into a store and get one given the demand, but he said that the only explanation would be that they had no one on the list at that particular boutique.

Congrats, its a beautiful watch indeed!

Just thought I'd share some info on how the waiting list for CBs work...

The waiting list is centralized in Geneva so there is no benefit in adding your name down at multiple boutiques/locations. Essentially, when FP Journe centralized their waiting lists they saw the same names appear 3-4 times, so since this change FP Journe have an exact understanding on the demand of the CB and where they need to be sent to reach end clients.

As for the OP who walked into the Paris boutique and bought it, perhaps the next person on the list had said "I'll collect it in 6 weeks time" and the boutique knew they were being sent another one prior to this point in time so felt comfortable in letting this one go to a nice person who walked in the door and was enthusiastic about the brand!

I will also add that as of about a month ago, FPJ are asking those interested in the CB to fill out an application form. This form is not for them to decide who does and who doesn’t get one, but so they can have a more accurate idea of how many people want to buy one.

Superb. Glad to hear that you are enjoying it, it's a fantastic watch, versatile and interesting. So much more so than the 15202; not hating on the 15202 as I think there should be a place in everyone's collection for a 15202 also BUT head to head the FPJ offers so much more.
