5524G Availability?

Didn't seem like too long ago that 5524Gs had a healthy premium.

The first 2 ADs I went to in Tokyo had them sitting in their window displays available for sale. I was a bit surprised to see them sitting in a window, thought I know they generally are attainable with a short wait.

Interesting I’ve never seen one but haven’t been to a Patek AD recently. It makes sense though as the grey premium has eroded back to retail or slightly below.

This is good in my opinion one should be able to walk in and buy a Patek sports piece without jumping through hoops. Let’s get back to that.

with the R that shows the commitment to the line IMO. Speculators banking on a one off and short run are now out. Fine by me

Even if you see them at an AD they are exceedingly rare on wrists as i would bet they get less than any nautilus. Ive actually seen those in the wild, never a 5524. Less buyers for sure now that you need to want one to buy one.

I haven't seen any in the windows of the London Ad, s, but I absolutely love this peice, IMO retro and funky the white gold that is, not a fan of the R

Fingers crossed its discontinued soon (I know it won't be before anyone jumps on this statement)

The one I just bought was ordered for someone else that turned it down. it was in the safe. I didnt even ask about the pilot as my wife was trying on a 24. It just came up because we were talking about the 24 being a little reminiscent of the pilot.

Ive not seen one at the 4-5patek stores I usually roll through ever.

WF have three and one buyable for £37/8K so not much above retail now. I think it rode on the coattails of the 5522 for a while but that's now cooling down.

If I’m not mistaken, WF have had those 3 since March. No one’s buying at those premiums.

Yep seen those, but they are much more recent.

I have not seen a 5524G in a window display but it is easily obtainable with a very short wait. My AD said the demand for 5524R is even lower than the 5524G

Are they? I thought it was possible but I also thought WF would adjust more instead of just being the ceiling of the market. Confirms my theory that even if a stockmarket crash occurs, greys will hold firm and not drop prices, not for a while until it really hurts.

I believe they are the same 3. I’ve been watching those as I sold my 5524 back in March for a loss (had some difficulty finding a buyer), so interested whether WF will reduce their prices.

Pricing has definitely come down -- pre-owned for 43 means the person who sold it to the dealer got whacked. Love the 5524 and hope to pick one up at some point irrespective of pricing.

I've only recently (a few months ago) started a relationship with a Patek AD and they offered me the G and R about a month ago to see if I had any interest in them. Good looking watches but they weren't what I was looking for at the moment.

I am thinking seriously about making my leap into Patek and making this my first. Really love the look. AD here in Houston who I don’t have a relationship with said they would take about 8 months to get one for me. Checking with a dealer back east that I do have a relationship with. From everyone’s experience do you think I can do any better than MSRP or is not even worth me asking?

Hope you have a great time in Japan. Did you manage to ask them if they have any nautilus for sale?

I don't think an AD will give you a discount but maybe nowadays it doesn't hurt to ask, altho more chance if they have it already.

AFAIK the AD is dallas based and that is the primary location. The Houston location is fairly new. Try them to see if they give you the same time frame as I assume you are not talking about Tiffany in Houston.

unless its a small token discount for being a repeat customer with lots of spend, retail is what its going to be most likely.

No not really at this point. Too big for my wrist I reckon.

I was shopping around some greys, and among my finds I was tempted by were a BNIB WG Black dial Lange 1815 Chronograph for 37.7K, a mint 5167R for 30.5K and a 116655 for 18.5K. The 5167R is really calling my name...

5167R is a nice watch, I equally like the 5164R. With the current exchange rate and VAT refund you can get a new 5167R from an AD in the UK for around 30K

5524G Availability?

In Seoul today I stopped by both the ADs. Both had 5524Gs on display. First AD even had a 5524R on display. The only catch is that even after the tax refund, the MSRP is about 55K USD.

The first AD had a crazy selection, which was a nice surprise after seeing empty shelves in Hong Kong. They had 5204P, 5270/1R, 5204/1R, 5370P on display.

I’m in Seoul too and saw 5524g displayed in galleria east AD.
Where’s the other AD with lots of display?

Thanks Tng11!

Just curious, but are these(5204P, 5270/1R, 5204/1R, 5370P) available to anyone or only VIP/approved customers.

There are some who opined that if watches are displayed in the window, do not buy them.

The case size combined with the pushers also probably reduces the pool of potential buyers.
