Any one have any first hand knowledge on 5164A availability or wait time?

Check with an AD if you want new. If a first time buyer, you probably cannot obtain the watch new unless supplies increase.

I think it depends on your location.
5164A is my first Patek and I had no problem of obtaining it as my first piece. PS:This ad only carries Patek so absolutely no connection before the purchase. |

Called two Patek dealers in OC and they said they are not putting anyone on the waitlist for sport models. Hopefully they are easier to come by in other places. DavidSW was able to track a mint 5164a down for my buddy pretty quickly.
