Icon20 After 5711R & 5980R, which Patek should I get next ?

Hi guys, I'm currently looking to get my third Patek (after my first and second, 5711R & 5980R respectively). Recently, I've been eyeing the Aquanaut Travel Time in Rose Gold Ref. 5164R, which for some reason, the watch just keeps screaming at me. As a side note, not too long ago, I had been thinking of getting the Nautilus 5712R in Rose Gold, but boy this 5164R, I really can't get it out of my head!! Now I'm really torn between the two. What would you get ?

The 5164r. It looks miles better than the 5712r; Nautilus on leather strap just doesn't look right.

You will be adding another complication to your existing beautiful Patek pair.

nautilus on leather looks excellent, much better than the aqua on the pirelli tyre plastic strap.the 5711R is very stylish, it can be dressed down or up, mever out of place. fantastic piece, beats the aqua easily. just look at the dial....

5712/1a would be my first choice but if you most have gold then 5164R will bring more diversity to your collection

Im down on the list for the 5164R after I receive my 5711R (in 2019). No confirmation date on the 5164R, but I can't wait for that email to pop in.

The 5740G. That's the most natural progression based on what you already have.

Yeah.. the "tire-like" rubber strap is kinda holding me back somehow.. I have reservations about it. But the watch piece itself is amazing IMO

Or.. I could just replace the strap with a Rubber B, if and when they came up with one like the Sky-Dweller's (Red/Black).

It's a mind-blowing piece, that's for sure ! But I'm trying not to stray away from the narrow path of which Pateks I need to get first, before others. I have craved for other Nautiluses for some time now, but those 2 are my immediate grab pieces right now...

I'm restricting myself to a maximum of 1-2 Pateks every year, on top of the Rolexes that I might obtain in a single year (just purchased a Sea-Dweller 4000 Ref. 116600 in August).. I don't have unlimited budget, mind you ..

Totally sick piece BTW:

Indeed. You read my mind ! It's almost like having to choose between Penne and Fusilli, you can't stomach both at the same time !

How long do you think you'd have to wait for the 5164R ?

That's what I thought too ... If I could only have 1 Aquanaut, the 5164R would be the one.

I have the 5146 R and it and my5711 seem to get the most wrist time. I love the rubber matching brown strap w the elegant gold clasp. I had a 5726 and just didn’t find it exciting for me with leather strap - even changed to its smooth rubber strap but finally traded for a 5327. Get the 5167 R - It is subtle elegance! You will love it!

Aquanault 5164R. I guess the way you wrote, you already made up your mind. Doesn't make much sense to have 5712R and 5980R in one collection.

I'm leaning towards the 5164R, right.. but the 5712R has that sporty/dressy combination look.. So to put this into perspective: 55% for the 5164 and 45% for the 5712..

PS: Have seen them both in the flesh, and tried wearing them on different occassions ..

Part of the reason I'm probably going to skip the 5167 line is, it looks too "rounded", for lack of a better word... The case somewhat enshrouds and engulfs (and diminishes) that octagonal shaped bezel nautiluses and aquanauts are well-known for. I don't know.. it just seems off to me. The 2 pushers on the left side of the case in 5164R, give it a nice balance IMO.. (making it look beefier too)

... again, the 2 pushers give the Travel Time Aquanaut a closer resemblance to its older brother, the Nautilus

.. and to be honest, I never gave the Aquanaut much thought before I came across the Travel Time 5164R. (eg. Rubber strap is a turn-off, overall flimsy-looking watch, etc)

The 5164r would be my preference with or without considering the rest of your collection.
