5524G question

Hi guys
My AD has offered me a 5524G Pilot. Would any owners be able to give me their opinions on it? Any pros/cons, anything I should know, is it comfortable etc etc
Thanks very much.

I had it and sold it fairly quickly. It’s a very nice watch and would consider buying again in the future, but for me 4 things: 1) I realised I’m a sucker for the Nautilus, so it went in favour of the 5990 2) The novelty of having the travel time as the only complication wore off quickly 3) I prefer chronos 4) The blue dial of the 5524 didn’t meet my expectations

The pushers take some getting used to, if they don't put you off you are mostly there.

It is a very nice watch. It is very comfortable on the wrist. However it is a scratch magnet and not a daily for me.

Fantastic piece. I’ve traveled the world with mine with zero issues. Definitely NOT a “scratch magnet”. It’s one of my most favorite Pateks.

Great watch in many ways.

You should see it and try it on to see how it feels on your wrist since your AD has it.

Pushers, dial color and scratches not an issue whatsoever for me.

It’s not for those who believe that Patek= Nautilus.

Love it or hate it as there isn’t much middle ground. I love it and a like it even more because it’s polarising

Great pictures, thanks. I think that’s helped me make up my mind. This is becoming an expensive habit

Thanks! Some great watches there. I have a gmt and dd40 - I’d say the dd40 fits me the best and appears it could be that way for you as well

Tyler,

What say you, Does the pilot wear larger than your Pepsi? Clearly you have a much larger wrist so the pilot fits you well it appears

Sorry for hijacking this thread.
Does PP sell replacement strap for 5524 in dark blue / black, with the contrast white stitching and the “cross” stitching near the buckle end?

Reason: my AD says it’s not in the catalog
But this upcoming Christie’s auction has the 5524 and the details (obtained in the “condition report” below the “place bid” button) says it’s a “dark blue Patek Philippe calf strap”.

Link to Christie’s auction:

I didn’t like it personally, as Tyler says it’s a more ‘hate it or love it’ watch for many of us. So if it’s for you I think you should know!! If you don’t love it then I don’t know why you’d even consider it anyway, it’s a lot of money.

Not my favorite PP reference. I know an associate that has one and for the money I would go different but he loves the watch.

Not sure about that. When i bought mine (less than 1 month ago). They ordered me a black strap and another brown strap as the gift.

I’m talking about the blue strap. It is definitely discounted.

The blue strap you mentioned has been discontinued. We still can order alligator straps through the AD

Beautiful watch.

The locking pushers are one of my favorite details

The blue dial is perfect.

The only consideration I would be concerned with is, how does it fit your wrist?

Critically speaking the movment is a bit small.

Yes you can order alligator straps. I’m just talking about the blue calf strap that was made specifically for the 5524 for a short time, as that is what an earlier poster was asking about

Thanks all! The dark blue PP strap with white stitching would be the best. I've seen Tyler's and it's gorgeous.

My AD will order me a matte navy blue (reference number 124) if she can't find the original dark blue strap for me.

Fat_ninja: if it's convenient, could you ask your AD what's the reference number of the dark blue strap? It should be 3 numbers. My AD says she can't find it in the catalogue.
