WOS says 5270p is an application piece now

Went to the WOS in Regent Street London looking for 5270P. SA tells me its an application piece and Head office needs to approve me. As in i have to apply to WOS and not to Patek. As in WOS might allow me to pay them £160k for a watch thats available for £130k brand new at the Burlington Arcade.

What a joke.

Don’t know why you’d want to buy Patek from a corrupt and incompetent company like WOS.

Anyway I am not happy with WoS though

They are available at other ADs, just a question of contacting them. At this price point are they seriously suggesting you’d need to be vetted as a potential client- no profit in flipping one of these beauties!

This sort of attitude has been my experience every time I have been in WoS.

The sales people at WoS says many strange things. Only thing I know is that as soon as their lips start moving, they are lying.

This may be the way things are done there now. My SA texts me reference numbers and if I say I am interested she then submits my name to corporate.

I sense this is to create the illusion of exclusivity. For what it's worth, in March of 2020 I asked about the 5270p at WOS. They had one in stock and I put down a deposit to hold (no prior purchase history at that point).

Wanting to pay more than market price for a watch but prior to this you have to be selected to do so.
The watch world has gone mad

It really has gotten into their heads. They are so far detached from reality. Kelly Wang was the name of the saleswoman. Horrible.

I wonder what % of the Patek market in the UK is theirs now and what it will be in another 5 years.
