I know that cause mine is tight after removing two links and now I can't find them. Don't know where I put them.

Something tells me he has a regular Oyster bracelet and not the Oysterquartz.

When I bought the watch pre-owned it came with 14 and I wasn't told the original buyer added an additional link if the watch came with 13 originally. A regular Oyster bracelet won't fit the case of the Oysterquartz!!!

I believe its 13 from the factory as it should have 3 links w/pins on the 12 o'clock side and 2 links w/pins on the 6 o'clock side. But really doesn't matter if it doesn't fit just add a link.

Looks like the links are good and snug on both of your SS watches. The gold center links on the 17013/4 and 19018/9 models wear the sides and stretch at the pins.

Interesting thread, number of links for OQ, and also the fact that the 17014 has center links in gold. It makes sense since the 17013 has some, just less visible in WG of course!

Looking at a closeup picture found in another forum, you really can't see any difference at all :

The 17014 was in ss/wg.

The bezel was wg.

IMO the bracelet is ss.

The 3 centerlinks showing above are WG and the outer SS?

Oops looks like I didn't get notified of posts following mine. Anyway I was going on GTS Dean's post saying that the center links of the 17014 were WG and were therefore more prone to stretching than SS links. I do finf it a bit odd that that they would have used WG center links as you can't tell the difference from SS, but then the center links on the 17013 are YG, so...

So back to the original question, yes, 13 links out of the factory, good for a 7.25" wrist apparently and I've found 12 links are good for a 7" wrist. Not very generous of Rolex but at least extra links they can be found in most (all ?) Rolex boutiques. Current price is €45, if you need a full bracelet it will cost you €800, ouch.

I don't think that these center links are whitegold.
It's like with the regular Datejusts with the fluted bezel: Only the bezel is whitegold, not the bracelet links.

Unlike the 17013, the center links on the 17014 are steel, not (white) gold. The color and texture of the centre links are a virtual match with the surrounding steel. Only the bezel on the 17014 is 18k gold, along with certain dial elements like the baton markers and hands (to avoid or minimize corrosion).

Here's mine...

Rolex still provide links for the OQ bracelet. I got an extra one from the RSC a couple of years ago. 100 bucks.
