Any issues here?
So a friend got this for his wedding years ago.
I knew they added diamonds to the dial, but the previous model with an engraved rehaut? Might be completely wrong but I thought they started engraving the rehaut when the 6 digit models came out? He's planning on bringing it to the RSC in NY soon to get it back to factory and get a service done.

Well, we will we finding out soon enough.
I'm inclined to believe that it is real based on the person and the people that gave it to him, but I guess that trip to the RSC can't come soon enough. I'm not even going to mention the possibility that it's not real to him. I think they paid somewhere around 5k almost 10 years ago. Edit : I also looked it up and found out that engraved rehauts did exist on five digit models near the end. |

The PIP and minute indices looks odd.

The 5 digits also have engraved rehaut so that is accurate but this watch doesn't look authentic as others have stated or it's just in really bad condition. More photos would certainly help but open it up and we shall see!
The dial is terrifying by the way... Why is the only thing that comes to mind! |

Looks OK from here (no red flags), other than the aftermarket diamonds on the dial. |

I don't see anything wrong with it. As you say, the engraved rehaut came out well before the ceramics.

Checks out for me, I have an transition 16610 with engraved rehaut a lot of people say it’s not real due to that, but they were doing that well before 6 digits.

Watch MAY be real, but need to see movement.
The dial obviously modified. The bezel is fake. The thin font of the '30' and the 3:00 indice in silver is touching the edge. |

Normal to have that much spacing in Oyster Perpetual Date?

Also if you’re not sure I would not send it to RSC. I believe they will confiscate and destroy the piece if it is not authentic.

That is a pure myth. Rolex will not repair it. They write a polite letter explaining why, and they can either return it at your cost or destroy it. They can not and do not attempt to keep it Adam

Thanks for clarifying that for me Adam. I was just told that by someone at the Rolex boutique local to me as they were telling me about their service procedures.

Thanks for the input everyone.
It's tough working out a time since the RSC in NY is only open on weekdays. Will definitely follow up whenever my friend and I make it there.
