The watch looks fine. However, as CC mentioned, it should have the "bark" bracelet to match the bezel. So, the bracelet was swapped out with a "normal" president bracelet at some point (which the clasp code also confirms). The replacement bracelet looks OK though (not aftermarket). I'd agree that it's likely either a scam (PayPal/wire payment w/ shipping only type deal, and you wouldn't receive the watch in the photos), or it's stolen. You could try calling your local LEO department and see if they'll cross check the SN in the NCIC database. I'll post it here for future (searchable) reference: Rolex Bark President 18078. Serial Number: 9587228. |

If you Paypal this guy $5000... I am 100% positive you will not receive a watch... but it's your choice

I could be wrong, but I don't think papers came in card envelopes like that back then... or ever?

If you buy it.. Only buy in person and meet at a Bank, Police Station or C21 Watch Makers shop to have verified.

Not to get into a whole Paypal discussion, but wouldn't the buyer be protected if using Paypal?

Yes, I believe he would, if he paid in "one" installment.

Some families sell off an uncle or grandfather items quickly.. a novice watch person may simply price it as scrap gold.... Anyone local to them may get a great deal

Meet at a Rolex AD that will verify the authenticity of the watch and hand him cash if it checks out. I agree on the phone number issue. I live in central Indiana and have a Chicago area code from 15 years ago.

FAKE FAKE FAKE. Stay away. i saw this exact piece sell on eBay 3 times with the exact same pictures. Seller has 0 feedback and 0% on his ebay account. I tried to request for pictures, and was told that he isn't going to make any as the auction was ending soon. (Auction still had 2 days). Stay the hell away.
