Thoughts on PP 5110

Hi all,

I am thinking of adding another Patek to the collection. I have been looking at different Pateks on straps. I was almost set on the 5170G black dial but I want to wait a little to see if the prices will go a little lower on the secondary market. I think the 5110 is a really nice piece and I think the 37mm size works well for me. I wanted to get your thoughts on this piece. Thanks.

I have all four. Is that telling enough?

Best, Kari

Nice! Which is your favorite and which get worn most? I am leaning towards the 5110p. Thanks.

My first was 5110P and thus my favourite. But I'm not sure: R is stunning, J is classic and G is somehow understated.
All four metals have a very different personality.

Best, Kari

Had one in RG.... twice! I paid $12,500 when new the first year it was offered. Great timepiece and made when Patek had excellent QC. Go for it!

You asked for thoughts, so I'll give a few.

Always been too hard to read of me and entirely too small.

HOWEVER, if it sings to you and size is fine, I say go for it.

Although I love platinum, from pictures that one seems not nearly as legible as the others.

Do you have the LE Munster edition as pictured above? I was wondering if that was released for a special anniversary for the Patek AD located in Munster.

I am in the minority's and never been a fan. It's hard enough to read on the 5130 but if that isn't an issue go 4 it. I also didn't like the stubby hands but would go for P.

Kari, did't know you had all four! Fantastic pieces. As you know, I had been considering the P and R for a while now, haven't pulled the trigger yet but I must say the case shape, size, design is close to perfection

The 5110P is a cult watch. One of the most beautiful Pateks. That's the one to get.

No, I don't. These L.E. watches do not really interest me. For me 4 x 5110 is enough.

Best, Kari

Difficult thing is I can't try one on before purchasing. I also thought about the new 5230. My only reservation with this piece is the guilloche pattern. What do you guys think about the new WT?

Vipes, i highly prefer the 5110 center and hands to the newer versions. It is easier to 'tell the time' and looks great too!

Don't forget that you also might want the matching dealer wall clock. Yes the WT feature works, and it weighs about 30 lbs(!). Had one within my livingroom for many years, loved it!

Nice! Seen them go for over $20k at auction. Let's see if that Patek magic is still going strong. If it was the same one that was here, the batteries in it are new as of late last year and should be good for about seven more years.
