Why do so many people wear watches the wrong way?

I know it's not my business but is anyone else really bothered by people wearing their watches past their wrist bone? I see it everywhere - on these forums, other forums, Instagram, FB, etc., taking wrist shots like this. It also just looks extremely uncomfortable. How do ppl live like this???

Some people find it uncomfortable higher up. I used to wear my watch very low due to having very sweaty hands/wrists most of the time (hyperhidrosis).

Now I wear it a little bit higher as the watch feels more secure and is less prone to getting knocked around. I still find a loose fit more comfortable though.

Each to their own I guess.

A friend wears his higher up his wrist and according to him, it's comfortable and allows him handle whatever task he has easily.
So it's just a choice and for good reasons to them, but I don't like it high up though.

Different strokes for different folks.

Someone could wear their watch on their Johnson for all I care.

No right or wrong way, that’s exactly how I wear mine. Everybody’s wrist is different, what’s comfortable and normal to you might not work for everyone.
Maybe you’re the one wearing it wrong as you see so many people wearing it the “wrong” way.
You want to know how people live like this, well I live like this pretty well thank you.

Is this a serious question? Wear it how you like it.

I would do this but I can’t afford to buy all the extra links I’d need.

I like my watches loose.

When I take a wrist shot, I cock my wrist to keep the watch stable for the shot and some people have told me that it looks uncomfortable, but it's just for the shot.

All the rest of the time the bracelet/strap has some play and moves smoothly up and down according to my tasks.

For me, wearing a watch tightly above the wrist bone is definitely the wrong way.

Why do so many people wear watches the wrong way?

If we could be transported in time - to Christmas over 100 years ago. Can you just imagine the unwrapping convo’s about great-granddad’s (then) new pocket watch and how he isn’t wearing it right...

...and there are many opinions...

But each member of the family couldn’t change their minds from their favorite manner.

...until his grandson came up with this idea.

...and debate started up again

What's worse is wearing a watch on the dominant hand! So uncomfortable!

I wear my watches like that, on my dominant right wrist. I've been doing everything wrong for the last 30 years apparently.

I'm sorry to hear how bothered you are by how other people choose to wear their watches but they can wear their pieces how they like, there is no prescribed way of doing it.

I wear mine below the wrist bone, and on my dominant left side.... all the humanity.

Well personally I think all you guys are crazy.

I wear mine here and it never rubs against my cuff and feels very comfortable.

I am not.

Their watch, their choice.

that looks extremely uncomfortable OP... I actually have some formation and muscle so wearing a watch like a fragile dainty woman is not in the cards for me personally
