Opinions please

I am considering this watch.. Watch looks good, box doesn't look correct to me. I appreciate TRF members opinions if anything looks suspicious.

here is the actual ebay listing

Thanks,

Those photos look like the same format as eBay seller u$aveontime.

Not bad, Eric. However, since ALL of my Rolex watches were purchased on eBay, I usually ask for followup information. Since the seller has stated "The pictures below are of another one I sold but are fully representative of the watch for sale.", I would ask for photos of the watch being sold, not some other watch. Also, it is unusual to see an Oyster band on a DJ with a fluted bezel. I would ask if the one being sold has that combination, and if it does, did he purchase it that way, or has the band (or the bezel) been swapped out.

You are wise to get all of the info you can before a purchase like this. If you feel, after thoroughly checking it out, that all is well with this item, the price is very good. I paid a few hundred more for my TT DJ, and it was a 1997 model.

You know I didn't even catch that ""The pictures below are of another one I sold but are fully representative of the watch for sale.", " Nevermind, no way I would buy it. If their too lazy to take pictures of the actual watch, then something is wrong.

Thanks!!!

Yeah, that's a red flag to me for sure. Better to be safe than sorry!

Like you said also Allan, shouldn't that model have a Jubilee bracelet?

I did happen to see that exact combo on a new rolex at the AD this weekend. I liked it so much, I started looking on ebay for it. That is how I came across this listing.

Yes Sheldon, normally a Datejust will come with smooth bezel and the oyster bracelet, and one with a fluted bezel will come with a jubilee bracelet. That can be changed, an Rolex is OK with that. It is not the norm, but a perfectly fine option.

Eric, keep looking. I'm sure you will find what you are looking for, and are comfortable with the deal in every way!

Stan, all his listings are the same, Might be time to look into this seller, if these photos do belong to someone else then this is a scam and a half!
