2021 OP 41 vs OP 36

Picked up a new OP 36 Blue today for a possible kids gift and I tried it on I was very surprised how much I like it. In the last six months have also purchased an OP 41 Blue, TT Yacht-master White, Newer Stainless no date Submariner and a 1998 Explorer II Polar.

I thought I would really like a 40mm and 41mm watch collection but I really like the way this 36 fits so I am confused.

I may just keep it but wife says I can only have 4 watches in my collection so not sure which one to part with….lol Thoughts?

36 vs. 41 is a wrist size proportional thing. I can't even get a 36 bracelet over my hand. For a smaller wrist, though, the 36 may be better proportioned for you. You can always regift the 41.

I chose the 36 because the dial feels less FLAT than the 41, which to me looked like a large peperoni pizza

Tell your wife what’s bought can’t be sold. Keep both watches and enjoy it. The day you don’t enjoy one anymore only sell it. It’s just a watch. It’s not having a mistress.

36mm works well on many wrists. If you like it, keep it

I have a 6.75 wrist, and feel 36mm is too small. Wear and keep whatever you like best on you.

My wrist is 7. 3/4 inch wrist flat and 36mm feels the correct size

+1 Compare the two on wrist and part with the one you like less -- if it's the OP41 that needs to go, so be it.

The proportions look the best for the 36. The larger ones just look off. The dial is too big so the spacing and everything else looks goofy. The 36mm has the same size dial as your sub, ExpII and YM, so that's visually why they all look so good to you. Ditch the 41 for sure. Sell it here and make someone very happy, i.e. your wife!

Let 41mm go. I liked the 36mm explorer over the 39mm. Crazy, i know...

100% this. I know for those with larger wrists they may not want a 36, but it's hard to argue the proportions on the OP36 is just "right."

To the OP: I wear the new release OP36 (black dial) and, for my 6.5" flat wrist, it's just perfect.

I have a 6.5" wrist ...OP 36 is nearly perfect for my wrist (wish it were 37-38). I didn't buy this one, I want either previous gen white or black, or possibly the steel dial (very hard decision actually). I tried on the white grape in December. It was used/mint and in the low $4K price. I should have bought that one. White grape was my least favorite until I actually saw it in person.

Edit: Sorry, I just realized this was a 2021 OP comparison
