Travel with 2 watches ?

I rotate every few days between a DJ41 black dial, smooth bezel with oyster bracelet and a BB58 blue. Usually my trips are only 2-3 days so I stick with one of the two. Next trip is 10 days and I really want to travel with both watches. Is this over the top or am I simply just a watch enthusiast ? Outside of this forum I’m sure most would think I’m nuts.

I’ve traveled with 3 watches on a 4-day trip recently. Not over the top

I travel with 2, a SS and a PM. I use a watchpod for the one I'm not wearing. We are here because we love watches. The only thing we like more than watches is more watches. Variety is the spice of life.

Same here for two weeks I carry two watches. It’s fun to switch them and get to enjoy them.

Just make sure you can keep the one you are not wearing safe or else you will worry about that. Then that becomes less enjoyable.

Travel with 2 watches ?

I just went on a 10 day vacation to Las Vegas & Utah.

I kept thinking I was going to take 2 watches.

At the very last minute, I decided to take only my Submariner. That worked fine for me. I think that’s what I’ll do next time too.

Important to note is that I go out of my way to travel light and I guess that applies to my watches too...

When we travel internationally, it’s usually for 14-21 days. I will typically bring 2-3 watches.

Not unusual at all. I take two quite a bit. Where I stay is a determining factor. If I'm on the move a lot or in hotels on the trip, I'll stick with one. If I'm on business (always have a bag on me) or staying with friends, I'll usually take two.

If I go to a spot where I am family homes (no hotel) I will bring 2-3 watches. In a hotel stay only the one on my wrist. Don’t need the worry.

When traveling I usually take 2 with me ... my Sub and a beater (G-Shock or SKX).

I tend to agree with this - if staying at a hotel, there really is no sure way of securing a second expensive watch unless I am missing something.

We all know that hotel safes are not secure.

Does anyone have any special way of doing this with the watch that is not on wrist?

No dont. Safest place for the watch is in the wrist. This means that you will be wearing one, and one is stored in what a hotel or something. Thats a no-go for me. Take the DJ, its very versatile.

It’s easy to take a watch or two along in a watch pod etc. If you don’t like to use hotel safes those easily fit in bags/backpacks.

Add some insurance if the thought of a loss keeps you from enjoying them. I wouldn’t own a watch if I worried about such things.

Life’s short. Don’t leave your toys on the shelf.

My vacations almost always involve water so I take a designated water watch and another for dry activities. My water watch is either a Pelagos or an SKX, my last two vacations I took an Explorer II and a PAM respectively. Two watches on vacation seems perfectly normal to me.

Traveling for work is just the watch on my wrist. For vacation, sometimes 2 depending on location, but usually whatever is on my wrist.

Short answer is one.

Yeah man you can do whatever you want, you don't need a stranger telling you how many watches or underwear to pack, its a free world! Heck if you look few posts above someone bought the same watch twice! If it helps I took 2 once on an international trip in a 3rd world country but mostly wore my ExpII.

This. I travel with 1 watch no matter how long the trip is.
I usually take my GMT when I'm abroad, if not I usually take 1 PM piece.

I just returned from TCI. I wore a SubC as the only watch that I took as every day was on or in the ocean, pool, a boat or beach.

Absolutely fantastic place, BTW.

Same.

I understand why some like to travel with more than one, but it would make me anxious to leave a watch in a hotel safe or with the concierge

Enjoy wearing your watches, that is what they are for. I always take several when I travel

It depends on where I am going and what I will be doing once I get there. If I am staying in a hotel or at friends that may not be as secure as desired I usually take one for the wrist and a beater for fun. I never leave watches unsecured in hotel rooms. We have a condominium at the coast and I do not hesitate to take any or all of my watches there as it is a second home. I also have insurance on all of my expensive watches.
