DSSD off to RSC

Well, I gave my DSSD a rub a dub, dub yesterday and noticed what looked like little pin pricks, actually tiny water stains is a better description, all along the side of the case. I never noticed it before, admittedly I had to angle it under bright light to see it, but it was there. generally i am OCD with my watches, even though they are tools. Took it to the AD to let the watchmaker take a look, and he said it was, some metallurgical term I was not familar with. Something to do with an imperfection with how it was made, and that if he were to polish it it may just make it worse. Very weird, never saw this with any of my other Rolex's, so off to RSC.

It is because you dive with it Chris. That watch was not meant to be underwater.......especially sea water. When you get it back, make sure you never dive with it and it will be fine.

HaHaHa . . . it wasn't anything mechanical, just my OCD. I like scars, I just want to be the one to put them on it.

One case like this could be the sign of a bad batch of steel, so it's good that Rolex gets a chance to check it out.

Good luck.

I feel confident they will sort it out. It went to Dallas, TX, or I should say it will be going Monday. It was weird, that is for sure, little specks under certain light, still had a mirror finish though.

Hope it works out well.
