Go with the blue dial first and black second. The silver is only ok for me.
Will this fit you? I’m concerned the DT won’t fit on my 6.5. Watchbox says the bracelet doesn’t drop straight down as the endlink (s) now out similar to a 15202

I've always liked the Vacheron overseas chronograph but the beating you take on depreciation without a massive AD or Grey discount is to much for me to stomach.

- 150m water resistance

Cons?:

- It’s not a Nautilus
- It’s not PP which is my favorite brand
- Thicker 11mm vs 8.3 (this a big con )

What do you guys think?
I'm seeing $18,900 USD on the VC website. $45K new--am I missing something or is there a PM version I don't know about?

Not sure what the 45k refers to. There is a WG ultra thin version, but that one is close to 60k.

I do really like the VCO line, I tried a Dual Time (white) and was really charmed with it. Haven't seen a blue dial yet so I do not have a opinion on that one

But I consider the VCO a replacement for a Rolex Sky-Dweller, not a PP. It is a BIG watch

45k was referring to retail price of a 5711 white.

Right. OP posted as such... and I've been trying to figure it out. Don't think it's the WG ultra thin, though that's stunning watch!

Don't think so. Retail price of 5711 white is $30,620. Secondary is something like $65K+.

I am also considering getting a 4500V now as it seems harder and harder to get now. Better get one now for list price than having to pay premium.

So true, a fantastic piece but just far too pricey. On the whole I actually really like the newest generation Overseas and having tried it on the bracelet, at least to me in person, isn’t too much of the Maltese cross for ones taste. And 3 looks you can give it is real bang for the $

I am seeing the resale value for the 3rd generation very close to the retail price. I think this 3rd gen is way better then previous models. Perhaps this is the start of a new page for VC. I personally love the quality and finishing of the new 4500

I think you will ultimately hate yourself a little bit for settling on something that you are struggling to talk yourself into.

There are some great arguments in this thread on the merits of the VC... But the heart wants what the heart wants.

I would either pay the premium in the gray for the 5711 (what I did), or sit tight and do nothing.

Personally, I prefer the look of the VC Overseas versus the Nautilus.

I know it’s just personal preference, but I’ll never be able to get over the extension on the right part of the watch head, I know its purpose is to offset the crown and crown guards on the other side but to me it’s rubbish I do love the Aquanaut and many Calatrava PPs but no Nautilus for me.

We’ll see if I’m wrong, but I feel like this is a great buy (I have 0 connection, just bought my own)

https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Vachero...b11c%7Ciid%3A1

I really do feel that the overseas is now at the level of the Nautilus and ROO.

This is just the starting price of an auction on ebay and as such meaningless at this point. Moreover, the seller typically sells low-value items rather than 20k watches. This should result in a big discount if there will be any buyer at all. There are certainly less risky ways to get your hands on an expensive watch.

I hear you! Bought mine from an AD, more just discussing that I think these watches are valued well, for long term discussion.

I've owned the 5711 white and a 5164a for ages but the Overseas dual time blue dial with a black rubber strap is the one I keep reaching for day after day..
I know it looks huge in the photo but it's very proportionate on a 6.6 inch wrist

I'm a big fan of the newest gen VC Overseas, but I would only buy it if you LOVE it, not instead of something else.

100%. I can handle a premium around 15-25%, depending on the watch. However, Beyond that, I'm out. The value proposition simply isn't there.

Nice to know I’m not alone in this... did not look good on me at all.

38mm AP ROC was a much much better fit.

Nice watch. Very good price -- MSRP $ 19000 is much better than $ 75,000 (grey) for 5711 (White).

The used 5711 White loses on resale higher ($$$) than the used 4500v.

5711 White Grey price ~ $ 70_75,000, used ~ $ 60,000.
Vacheron 4500v Grey price $ 17500, used ~ $ 13 500.

Where have you ever seen a used VC 4500v for $13,500?

I feel way ahead of the game since I bought this new 4500V just over 2 mos. ago. I did get an exceptional deal but I would have paid msrp if I had too. It's just that great of a piece. Believe me you won't be sorry...
