JJ Irani Tribute Thread
JJ was a larger than life personality on this forum and his passion for Rolex and life was unsurpassed.
Here is an opportunity for you to say something about the man.

Like many members here, I also never had the distinct priviledge of meeting him in person. Yet, in due time, and through our regular online conversations and dialogue, he literally came to life for me and became what I consider to be a true online buddy. This is what made him a very special and unique individual in this community.
His ability to reach out, engage everyone in a fun, knowledgeable and respectful way, while earning well deserved accolades, friends and fans from all parts of the world. His presence will be sorely missed of course and there will likely never be another individual quite like him. But like any sports superstar, he too has left his mark and legacy forever for all of us to remember and reflect upon whenever we visit this wonderful site. RIP JJ and a heartfelt THANKS for everything. We will NEVER forget you pal and your infectious smile and zest for life. By all accounts, JJ sounded like a truly wonderful family man also, loved by everyone. We have lost a GREAT one folks. And heaven is so fortunate indeed to have such an esteemed, special, considerate and loving person join their fraternity. BEST REGARDS |

JJ was one of a kind. They broke the mold when they made him. He was funny, irritating, loving, lovable, and always willing to be the butt of jokes. Some of us razzed him about sheep, others about his bald pate, others about his penchant for buying and selling Rolexes. But he always maintained a wonderful sense of humor and optimism, right up to the end.
I had the privilege of meeting JJ in person and being the recipient of two of his great bear hugs - the first when we met, and the second when we reluctantly had to part. My wife and I had a wonderful dinner with JJ and his wonderful wife, Zemina, at his favorite Indian restaurant in Auckland and a memorable evening it was. JJ and I Skyped many times and it was always a pleasure to talk to him. He will truly be missed, not only by his immediate family, but by his extended worldwide family as well.

I have said it before but I will say it again...his strength and courage right up until the end is an insperation to me and I hope I can be half that tough when I am facing my last days....good show J.J. I did not know the man except for his posts here and I am still sad that he has passed and if that doesnt say something about how great he was and is I dont know what does. His personality was able to reach through a computer screen and grab a lot of us and that is a very impressive thing.

I haven't been on the forum much in recent months, so am very sorry to hear of his passing. He was a genuine enthusiast and set the tone on this forum as a real haven for fellow enthusiasts and so friendly, as well; not really what John Q. Public would expect of a Rolex forum. We have lost a great friend, but Hans has gained one, I am sure.

I will always think of JJ everytime I see a Platinum YM and, as he called it, a Bluesy. TRF will never be the same without him.

I remember sending a PM to JJ about the price & availability of Daytonas in NZ. He replied he wasn't interested in them with their silly subdials so he had no idea. He made me laugh with his reply.
Cheers JJ - RIP mate. |

Even as a newbie I could tell what a joyful and respected presence JJ shared here with his watch friends. It was easy to see his humor and charm, and most remarkably his bravery in the face of dire circumstances. Love and respect--he gave it, he earned it, he received it, and he always will.
