We've still got a few 2002 and 2003 of the Silver Oak.

We were big wine drinkers when we moved to Sonoma County 20 years ago but now not that much.

Try the app Vivino, it's free and works well for me. Snap a picture of the wine bottle label and it gives you an idea of how it rates

We were sort of overexposed. Hundreds of wineries. Thousands of choices.

Perhaps we drank so much early on and had a great sommelier guiding us as well.

We were drinking a bottle a day for dinner. And a lot on weekends.

As I got older I stopped drinking so much and my wife basically quit all together. I realize it’s such a waste being within 1/2 an hour to an hour away from some of the best wine in the world but ....

Yep, similar story here. I think most people gradually drink less as they get older. All my friends, anyhow. My metabolism can no longer support the regular wine consumption of my 30s/40s. I 'pay for' my consumption these days with an unhappy stomach that gives me Reflux.
Also when you drink less it gets harder to discriminate between varieties/Makers/terroirs/etc. as the memory suffers from lack of reinforcement.

Some wines from all over Australia.

Living in the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Oz we have >100 wineries most within 30km from our home.

Picture loaded! This is another great Cabernet for the price, Gravel Bed Red. Better price for club members...

Loads of dark fruit, black berry, plum, oak, vanilla, cedar, cherry, red fruit and raspberry.

my current stock...

Some of my current stock, but I try to only drink the pricey stuff when we have company that appreciates it. My go-to is Duckhorn Discussion when I don't want too expensive, or even a $40 bottle of Paraduxx red blend. It's kinda my table wine. The good stuff when we have company or go to friend's home for dinner I'll bring a good bottle. All these in my pic are exceptional.
