What's up with TimeZone?
Longtime member there, but haven't been visiting as much as I used to (I blame that on Rolexforums!). Seems like a lot of people are leaving or taking breaks from there; emailed with DON who used to sell straps there and he ran down the gamut of people being booted. Also not seeing too many posts as of late when I do visit.
Did I miss something, or are people just gravitating to other forums / blogs? Have the Hodinkees of the world taken over? TZ used to be my go-to watch site, and it's kind of sad to see it seemingly dying.

People have been leaving there for years.
The PP mod there sent me a pm saying if I ever made a negative comment about pp watches that I would be banned. There were only to be nothing but positive posts about the brand. That was enough for me. |

TZ has really gone way downhill over the years.
I never post there anymore and rarely venture to the site. TRF is far and away the best watch forum anywhere. No need for TZ. |

TZ was my first watch forum but gave up on it a few years back. People, content and mods are much better over here.

I just assume watches on Timezone, Watchnet, or Chronocentric are all scams and never pursue them if I come across them on WR or something, lol.

When I started researching the GMT Master I wanted I visited TimeZone and WatchYouSeek. Very disappointing. Then I found TRF and it was a breath of fresh air. A few members can be a bit salty, a little rough on noobs, but I don't offend easily. :) There is more knowledge here than on all those other sites combined, plus a sense of community. The members here are eager to share their accumulated wisdom, and the pics tell stories all by themselves.

This makes me want to join and post a negative comment about PP, just to get banned.

Whatever you post will ban you, so be careful. The positive (for you) is I can't made a fool of you there.

Many many years ago TZ was my first watch forum... around 1998 or so. As I recall they got bought out or something changed, things went to rubbish and we basically left. The good thing is private boards have become truly exceptional, invite-only and just for our close / closed group of friends.
Getting back to OT time zone, seems like most of the people pretty much no longer post there that I know and haven't posted there in a long time. Back in the day TZ was epic fun. Today, not so much.

I left there over 10 years ago. I don’t think I’m missing out on anything.

Its been dead for a long time. Mods will ban you for blinking. Them and the Panerai forum flew south a long time ago.

Paneristi was always filled with hotheads. At least on TZ, people were inviting and shared knowledge (in the past, anyway).
