Never a concern for routine hand washing, same way I treat all my dress watches on leather straps.

The octo is just such a perfect watch to wear and forget its on your wrist

I think it’s a great watch. I tried on the skeleton in Vegas. Maybe I’ll pick it up on the cheap here. I wouldn’t buy retail.

If a $15 Casio can survive an actual diving experience, getting Octo Finissimo wet shouldn't be a problem:

Thanks guys its a great watch. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an avant-garde sports piece. It's like a more comfortable RO that flies under the radar and you don't have to worry about scratching it. Then it appeals to the WIS in you as well with the worlds thinnest chronograph movement.

The movement finishing is far more industrial and nothing to write home about but I generally buy watches on the strength of their overall aesthetic and comfort first and this has that in spades.

Definitely not. The case design is very well thought out and the bracelet is fantastic. There is not however the sort of finishing you would find on a RO, which I would argue would be out of place with the sleek industrial feel of the design.

I would like to include it to my collection of high end sport watches (5711 and 15202 for the time-being). Nevertheless I would be disappointed if the octo finissimo would be lower in finishing compared to the others.
I want to build a homogeneous trinity.

The case design is as good or better than those other references and the tolerances in the finishing especially for example the clasp are at the top level!

The movement is also fantastic.

Is there hand polishing of the components like some of the highest level brands , no but for me that is not something that would dissuade me from this piece.

The fit on the wrist, had to be experienced... I would say it was as good or better (depending on the individuals wrist shape)than the AP jumbo, which to date has been my favorite

I understand that there are different positions about this subject.
When I talk about level of finishing, I mean I don’t want a watch which look like shipper.
I love the Daytona but we must notice that it has not the same level of finishing compared to the RO.

Just saw a few Octos today. Really a great and creative line of watches. The chrono GMT is as light as a piece of paper which is great for wearing purposes but also leaves me thinking about how weight and wrist presence are usually associated with luxury watches.

It’s a great watch buy it! As far as weight and luxury that’s silly. RM light as a feather and cost a bundle. Comfort is king.

Pricing info for anyone interested...I was at Disney, Florida couple weeks ago and tried the titanium Octo on, the manager quoted me $10,950 out the door shipped to Chicago. I wasn’t even trying to solicit pricing so I believe it could have been had for less if I wanted to get serious.

I am holding out and watching pricing on these, would love to get one gray in the $7s
